His father played linebacker at South Carolina and was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Little was an Under Armour All-America selection and a first-team USA Today and MaxPreps All-American. He was ranked as the number one offensive lineman in the country coming out of high school and even ranked nationally as a consensus top five overall prospect. Little was named first-team All-State by USA Today and the Associated Press as both a junior and a senior. His high school record as a three-year starter was 46-1. Little won both a state and national championship in 2014. He also won a State Championship in 2013.

Little earned freshman All-America honors, as well as freshman All-SEC First Team by Coaches. As a true freshman he played every game and started five of those games at left tackle. He helped Ole Miss’ passing attack rank 13th overall in the nation. The team also allowed the fewest tackles for loss that year.

Little earned second-team All-SEC by all major outlets in the country his sophomore year. At the end of the year, Little was pegged as the 31st-best player in college football by NFL.com.

Heading into his junior season, Little entered the preseason with All-SEC first-team honors, as well as All-America first-team honors. After being the blind side protector for Ole Miss all year and allowing his team to pass for a nationally ranked fifth-best in yards, Little earned All-SEC first-team accolades and All-America second-team honors in his final year at Ole Miss.

Little has the accolades to go along with really solid stats. His strong ability to protect his quarterback’s blind side is evident. He shows tremendous athleticism for a man of his size. It is uncommon for a pure left tackle of his measurables to be able to move like he can. Little can be very effective with speed rushers. He can get to the edge and set his blocks, but when it comes to bull rushes and being pushed and pulled, his technique is questionable and he becomes very vulnerable. His footwork is going to need to be corrected at the next level which leads me to think he is an extremely raw prospect. He has a hard time rolling through contact and takes a false step.

Teams are always going to look at the effort a prospect puts into each play. This is something that concerned me when I watched a few of his games. There’s no doubt Little can succeed in the NFL. My question leading up to the draft will be can he correct his footwork, will he shore up his technique, and does he have the attitude and effort to strengthen his weaknesses. If those answers are yes, then he will make for a strong offensive tackle in the NFL.

Embed from Getty Images

Greg Little appears to be your prototypical left tackle at the NFL level.
