Back in the 1990\u2019s, opposing teams hated coming into the iconic\u00a0Lambeau Field<\/strong><\/a> to take on the Green Bay Packers<\/strong><\/a>. Some of it had to do with the cold, some of it had to do with the team the Packers had assembled, but a lot of it had to do with the loyal fans that support the team. Even when they were\u00a0awful and had a roster full of players that should have been doing something else for a living, Packers fans always supported their team and tried to make Lambeau a true home field advantage.<\/p>\n

Fast forward to the present, and it is hard to find that nowadays. No, I am not blaming the fans for their behavior, but instead the blame sits squarely on the shoulders of the Packers team, which\u00a0includes both the players and the coaching staff.<\/p>\n

What Happened to the Green Bay Packers Home Field Advantage?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

During the Brett Favre<\/a><\/strong> era, the Packers won one Super Bowl. The fans don\u2019t take that one Super Bowl<\/strong> win for granted, but they do understand those teams from that era should have won more. Current Packers fans are starting to feel the same way that the Packers fans from the 90s felt. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers<\/a><\/strong> has one Super Bowl victory under his belt and the expectations for the Packers and their fans are high and they’re starting to see the opportunity of a second Super Bowl with Rodgers closing.<\/p>\n

That is why you are starting to hear more boos come from the stands at Lambeau Field. On Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts<\/strong>, they witnessed a team who was coming off a 30-14 loss at home against the Kansas City Chiefs<\/strong> come into Lambeau and flatly outplay the home team. Not only did they watch the Packers get outplayed, they witnessed head coach Mike McCarthy<\/strong> get out-coached. And it was done by Chuck Pagano<\/strong> who is expected to be fired at the end of the season no less.<\/p>\n

With their 31-26<\/a> loss, the Packers now fall to 4-4 and with that, their chances of even making the playoffs are starting to slip away. Packers fans are starting to get the feeling that history is repeating itself and if the Packers can’t turn it around, starting next week in Nashville<\/strong> against the Tennessee Titans<\/strong>, then it might just become reality.<\/p>\n
