If you\u2019re looking for a player to add to your fantasy football team that has tremendous upside for the second half of the season, Marquez Valdes-Scantling<\/a><\/strong> might be your man. The Green Bay Packers<\/a> rookie wide receiver has played well in spot starts for the Packers this season. Now, with the news that Geronimo Allison<\/a><\/strong> will likely need surgery for a core muscle and could miss up to six weeks, Valdes-Scantling is in a prime spot to shine as a starting outside receiver for the Packers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Fantasy Football: Marquez Valdes-Scantling Gets a Huge Opportunity<\/h1>\n

Now is the Time to Add MVS<\/h2>\n

Valdes-Scantling is an intriguing wide receiver prospect. He\u2019s a height, weight, speed receiver with deep ball receiving skills. The 2018\u00a0fifth-round pick out of South Florida measured 6\u20194\u201d and ran a 4.37-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine. With that kind of size and speed, it\u2019s no wonder All-World quarterback Aaron Rodgers<\/a><\/strong> has taken a liking to Valdes-Scantling.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In his last four games, Valdes-Scantling has two 100+ yards games and he scored touchdowns in the two games where he did not reach the 100-yard mark. In the past four games as a part-time player, Valdes-Scantling saw target counts of 10, six, five, and six. Now with an outside receiver spot all but locked up, Valdes-Scantling has a good shot at maintaining his production and likely even surpass what he\u2019s been able to do so far.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Under Rodgers, the Packers number two outside wide receiver position has historically been a fruitful one for fantasy football. From the playing days of James Jones<\/a><\/strong>, to Davante Adams<\/a><\/strong>, to Geronimo Allison<\/a><\/strong>, all have put up good fantasy numbers when playing in that spot. Now, it\u2019s Valdes-Scantling\u2019s turn to man that receiver spot and he\u2019ll have an opportunity to add his name to the list of productive receivers who came before him. Buy Low on Marquez Valdes-Scantling Now<\/h2>\n

Although Valdes-Scantling is a popular name in fantasy circles this week that could change quickly. We all know it\u2019s a what have you done for me lately world now. If you\u2019re looking for help at the wide receiver position you can go about getting Valdes-Scantling a few different ways. First would be the waiver wire. If he\u2019s available and you’re in need of wide receiver help, then put in a claim for him or spend your FAB on him.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Second, if he\u2019s already owned in your league, find the owner of MVS and see if they are willing to trade him to you. If you\u2019re in desperate need of wide receiver help then do it this week, before his value potentially goes up if he has another good game.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The third option is more for the gamblers or people that might not be desperate for wide receiver help with their fantasy team but you would still like to potentially get their hands on MVS. You could hope he has a down week and some of the hype dies down, then make the move to trade for him. Of course, this is a riskier way to go about it but if you\u2019re not necessarily in the market for a wide receiver and would rather have MVS at a bargain, or not at all, then this might be the strategy for you.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

However, if you do go about getting Valdes-Scantling, it\u2019s probably a good idea that you do get him. Tyler Boyd<\/strong><\/a> was the big early season acquisition in most fantasy leagues. There\u2019s a chance that MVS could be the big late-season acquisition. A window of opportunity has opened up for Marquez Valdes-Scantling in a prime spot to shine.
