With the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/raiders\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Oakland Raiders<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/browns\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cleveland Browns<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/titans\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tennessee Titans<\/a> coming up before a Week eight bye, Gordon will continue to provide a strong return on investment for the foreseeable future.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the top five fantasy football plays at each position heading into Week five.<\/p>\n<h2>Best Week Five Fantasy Football Plays<\/h2>\n<h2>Quarterbacks<\/h2>\n<h3>Ben Roethlisberger (vs. Atlanta)<\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/falcons\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Atlanta Falcons<\/a> defense has been decimated by injuries and a road trip to Pittsburgh comes at the wrong time. Atlanta has given up 104 points in three consecutive home games and has been particularly vulnerable through the air. After getting torched for a combined 733 passing yards and six passing touchdowns the last two games by <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/B\/BreeDr00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Drew Brees<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/D\/DaltAn00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Andy Dalton<\/a>,<\/strong> the Steelers aerial attack, with\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/R\/RoetBe00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ben Roethlisberger<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>under center,\u00a0will have a field day at Heinz Field on Sunday especially coming off a tough loss to the Ravens.<\/p>\n<h3>Tom Brady (vs. Indianapolis)<\/h3>\n<p>Entering Week four, the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/colts\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Indianapolis Colts<\/a> pass defense had performed very well, allowing only 263.3 passing yards and one passing touchdown per game. But after the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/texans\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Houston Texans<\/a> win in Indianapolis on Sunday, the Colts are faced with a short turnaround on a road trip to Foxboro.\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/B\/BradTo00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tom Brady<\/a><\/strong> returned to his Hall of Fame form on Sunday in a 38-7 win over the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/dolphins\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Miami Dolphins<\/a>, throwing for three touchdowns. Look for more of the same on Thursday Night Football.<\/p>\n<h3>Philip Rivers (vs. Oakland)<\/h3>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/R\/RivePh00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Philip Rivers<\/a><\/strong> (vs. Oakland): The Raiders barely escaped at home in an overtime 45-42 win over the Cleveland Browns. They now face the intrastate rival Chargers with a hot <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/R\/RivePh00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Philip Rivers<\/a> <\/strong>who has thrown 11 touchdowns and just two interceptions. In the 18 games Lazor has served in that position, Dalton has thrown 36 touchdown passes. Nest up is a Miami defense that ranks 29th against the pass, allowing 288.3 passing yards per game. Running back <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/M\/MixoJo00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Joe Mixon<\/a> <\/strong>should return this week as well, giving Dalton another weapon.<\/p>\n<h3>Cam Newton (vs. New York Giants)<\/h3>\n<p>Defending a refreshed\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=NewtCa00,NewtCa20&amp;search=Cam+Newton&amp;utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cam Newton<\/a><\/strong> is a tall order for any defense. Coming off a Week four bye, the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/panthers\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Carolina Panthers<\/a> will be healthy and ready to feast on a 1-3 <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/giants\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">New York Giants<\/a> team. Running back <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/M\/McCaCh01.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Christian McCaffrey<\/a><\/strong> has been a PPR machine and gives Newton an easy target on short to intermediate routes. The key to Newton&#8217;s fantasy football production is his rushing ability. The Panthers signal-caller ranks first in quarterback rushing yards and rushing touchdowns.<\/p>\n<h2>Running Back<\/h2>\n<h3>Melvin Gordon (vs. Oakland)<\/h3>\n<p>The top running back for the Chargers has finally shaken his Achilles heel of yards per carry. This season Gordon is averaging a robust 5.1 yards per carry\u00a0while totaling 24 receptions and five total touchdowns. The presence of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/E\/EkelAu00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Austin Ekeler<\/a><\/strong> has actually improved Gordon&#8217;s efficiency, and he faces an Oakland defense that just allowed 208 rushing yards at home to Cleveland.<\/p>\n<h3>Christian McCaffrey (vs. New York Giants)<\/h3>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/M\/McCaCh01.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Christian McCaffrey<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0is averaging a mind-blowing 8.7 targets per game despite not scoring a touchdown. That changes this week against a Giants defense that just allowed 181 total yards and three rushing touchdowns to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/K\/KamaAl00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Alvin Kamara<\/a><\/strong> at home. With McCaffrey, it&#8217;s all about the snap share which stands currently at 96.8 percent (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.playerprofiler.com\/nfl\/christian-mccaffrey\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">PlayerProfiler.com<\/a>).\u00a0 A well-rested McCaffrey is a lock for a huge PPR fantasy performance in Week five.<\/p>\n<h3>Alvin Kamara (vs. Washington)<\/h3>\n<p>Should fantasy football owners be worried about the return of running back <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=IngrMa00,IngrMa01&amp;search=Mark+Ingram&amp;utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mark Ingram<\/a><\/strong>?\u00a0 Absolutely not.\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/K\/KamaAl00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Alvin Kamara<\/a><\/strong> has been the clear RB1 in all of fantasy football and he will continue to produce at home on Monday Night Football. The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/redskins\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Washington Redskins<\/a> sits atop the NFC East at 2-1, but Kamara at home in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome has the highest floor of any fantasy running back in Week five.<\/p>\n<h3>Ezekiel Elliott (at Houston)<\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/texans\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Houston Texans<\/a> defense is especially tough at home, but\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/E\/ElliEz00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ezekiel Elliott<\/a><\/strong>&#8216;s volume serves as his security blanket. The NFL&#8217;s rushing leader has also seen a huge uptick in targets (six per game), and that makes him a solid top five weekly fantasy running back.\u00a0 Elliott led the Cowboys in rushing yards, receptions, and receiving yards in a 26-24 win over the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/lions\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Detroit Lions<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Todd Gurley (at Seattle)<\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/seahawks\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Seattle Seahawks<\/a> are always tough against the run at home, but head coach <strong>Sean McVay<\/strong> has this <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/rams\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Los Angeles Rams<\/a> offense in high gear. While quarterback <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/W\/WatsDe00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Deshaun Watson<\/a> <\/strong>was less than impressive the first three weeks, Hopkins is currently on pace for 120 catches, 1,776 yards, and eight touchdowns.<\/p>\n<h3>Julio Jones (at Pittsburgh)<\/h3>\n<p>The lack of red zone production is now at an insane level. Despite leading the NFL with 503 receiving yards,\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/J\/JoneJu02.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Julio Jones<\/a><\/strong> still has not had a touchdown in his last ten regular season games, and only two in his last 15 regular season games. Regardless, he faces a Pittsburgh pass defense that is atrocious and this game should be a shootout, which means big numbers for Jones.<\/p>\n<h3>Keenan Allen (vs. Oakland)<\/h3>\n<p>With many of the top 12 wide receivers facing difficult road matchups, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/A\/AlleKe00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Keenan Allen<\/strong><\/a> becomes the third Charger in the top-5 at their position in this article. While a slow starter in 2017 as well, Allen torched the Raiders at home in Week 17 for nine receptions, 133 yards, and two touchdowns to finish as the overall WR1 in fantasy. This week will be the start of another big Allen production run.<\/p>\n<h3>Antonio Brown (vs. Atlanta)<\/h3>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/T\/TrufDe00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Desmond Trufant<\/a> <\/strong>is a great cornerback, but he doesn&#8217;t shadow the opposing team&#8217;s best receiver. When Cincinnati and Atlanta clashed, Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton simply alternated passes between wide receivers\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/G\/GreeA.00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">A.J. Green<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/B\/BoydTy00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tyler Boyd<\/a> <\/strong>depending on who Trufant was covering. Regardless of the coverage on <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=BrowAn04,BrowAn01&amp;search=Antonio+Brown&amp;utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Antonio Brown<\/a><\/strong>, he always finds a way to score. After a bad loss to the Ravens, look for Brown to come out with a vengeance on Sunday.<\/p>\n<h3>A.J. Green (vs Miami)<\/h3>\n<p>It&#8217;s easy to find the daily fantasy stacks this week, and another great one is in Cincinnati. <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/patriots\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">New England Patriots<\/a> wide receivers\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/D\/DorsPh00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Phillip Dorsett<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/P\/PattCo00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Cordarrelle Patterson<\/strong><\/a> caught touchdown passes on Sunday, and neither is close to the caliber of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/G\/GreeA.00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">A.J. Green<\/a><\/strong>. With <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/E\/EifeTy00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tyler Eifert<\/a> <\/strong>out for the season, there will be even more targets coming his way. Green ranks second among all wide receivers with five receiving touchdowns.<\/p>\n<h2>Tight Ends<\/h2>\n<h3>Zach Ertz (vs. Minnesota)<\/h3>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/E\/ErtzZa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Zach Ertz<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>is one of the only reliable tight ends in the NFL. He is rarely hurt and leads the position with 31 receptions.\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/W\/WentCa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Carson Wentz<\/a><\/strong>&#8216; return has ignited Ertz, who tallied 10 receptions and 112 yards in a 26-23 loss at Tennessee. The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/vikings\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Minnesota Vikings<\/a> allowed 90-plus yards or a touchdown to a tight end in each of the first three weeks of the season.<\/p>\n<h3>Rob Gronkowski (vs. Indianapolis)<\/h3>\n<p>Provided he plays,\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/G\/GronRo00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Rob Gronkowski<\/a><\/strong> is an easy top-three tight end this week against Indianapolis. Gronkowski will find fantasy points with ease as long as he starts on Thursday Night Football.<\/p>\n<h3>Travis Kelce (vs. Jacksonville)<\/h3>\n<p>While the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/jaguars\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jacksonville Jaguars<\/a> have a great defense, it&#8217;s hard to not put\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/K\/KelcTr00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Travis Kelce<\/a><\/strong> in the top three, especially with <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/M\/MahoPa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Patrick Mahomes<\/a><\/strong> playing at such a high level. Kelce has consecutive 100-yard receiving games in an offense that is averaging 39.3 points per game. Kelce never comes off the field and is first among tight ends in fantasy points per game.<\/p>\n<h3>George Kittle (vs. Arizona)<\/h3>\n<p>With his college teammate <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/B\/BeatC.00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">C.J. Beathard<\/a> <\/strong>now at quarterback,\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/K\/KittGe00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">George Kittle<\/a><\/strong> will have weekly top-12 tight end fantasy production. He exploded for six receptions, 125 receiving yards and one touchdown in the 29-27 loss against the Chargers. That included an 82-yard run and catch touchdown.\u00a0 At home against Arizona, Kittle brings safety to a fantasy position that provides very little.<\/p>\n<h3>Jared Cook (at Los Angeles Chargers)<\/h3>\n<p>The Chargers were tough on opposing tight ends, until facing the aforementioned George Kittle last week.\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/C\/CookJa02.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jared Cook<\/a> <\/strong> has been a nice surprise for a Raiders offense that is desperate for play makers in the passing game. He has already totaled 26 receptions, 370 receiving yards, and two touchdowns through four games.
