They might be reasonable, or they may seem to be completely from the hip, but all of them will have reasoning behind them. Either way, each Monday will be spent providing a couple of hot takes based on that particular week’s games. Here are some NFL Week three overreactions.

NFL Overreactions For Week Three

Bill O’Brien Will Be Let Go

Bill O’Brien has lost control of this team. There is no reason that the Houston Texans defense should be getting torn up like they have recently. Eli Manning just went 25 for 29, with two touchdowns and no interceptions. With the struggles that the New York Giants have had on their offensive line, the Texans only got to him for four sacks. That number should be higher with the talent on their defensive line.

Starting 0-3 in a good division definitely wasn’t predicted, and O’Brien is going to suffer for it. They need to make a change to try and get back in the division race. Getting O’Brien out will light a fire under the defense, and get the offense clicking again. Look for Bill O’Brien to be let go within the next week or two.

The Chicago Bears Will Win Their Division

The Green Bay Packers have a quarterback with one leg. The Minnesota Vikings just set a record for losing a game with the largest spread. The Detroit Lions head coach has a pencil behind his ear for his laminated play sheet. All of these have led to the Chicago Bears leading the division after Week three.

With a fair amount of weapons on offense, Adam Nagy will get Mitch Trubisky firing as the year goes on. The defense looks great, and the addition of Roquan Smith and Khalil Mack have transformed the Bears. Each season there are always at least a couple of teams that make a leap and a run at the playoffs out of nowhere. With all the other teams struggling, the Bears will stay at the top and win their division.

Drew Brees Will Break the Accuracy Record Again

After three games, Drew Brees has completed 80.6% of his passes. After setting the record last season with a 72.0% completion percentage, Brees hasn’t slowed down one bit. A career 68.3% passer for the New Orleans Saints, Brees is the most accurate passer in history. If he sticks to his career average with the Saints, he will throw around 39 passes per game. He can go 358 for 512 the remainder of the year, which would be 69.9%. This would get him to 72.1%. Brees is going to do better than that. With the incredible chemistry with Michael Thomas and check downs to Alvin Kamara, Brees will shatter his own record. Look for Brees to complete around 71% the rest of the year, and finish the year at 73.0%, breaking his record by an entire point.

The Arizona Cardinals Will Have the First Pick in the 2019 NFL Draft

The Arizona Cardinals finally scored more than six points in a game. Unfortunately for them, they stopped after the first quarter. They found themselves up 14-0, and then gave up 16 straight points. Getting the first pick in the draft would be good for this team, as it would help Josh Rosen. They are going to struggle this year going back and forth between Sam Bradford and Rosen. The defense is down even though they still have Patrick Peterson. The Cardinals don’t have too many skill players, and need to get Rosen a bit of experience. This will lead to the Cardinals having the first pick in the draft next year.

Last Word

As the year goes on more overreactions will be provided each week. Some of them are going to seem to be outlandish, but everything will still be backed up with stats and reasoning. Only time will tell how many of these overreactions come true, and which are incorrect. For now, these are the NFL Week three overreactions.

Main Photo

Embed from Getty Images

These are the NFL Week Three Overreactions.
