It\u2019s time for the NFL<\/a> Week Two overreactions after the weekend\u2019s slate of NFL games. They might be reasonable, with stats and numbers to back them up. They also could be completely from the hip. All of them will have reasoning behind them. Either way, each Monday will be spent providing a couple of hot takes based on that particular week\u2019s games. Here are overreactions from NFL Week Two.<\/p>\n

Overreactions After Week Two Of NFL Season<\/h1>\n

The Miami Dolphins<\/a>\u00a0Are a Playoff Team<\/h3>\n

The Miami Dolphins<\/a> have started 2-0. They have an incredibly easy schedule, and get to play four games against the Buffalo Bills<\/a> and New York Jets<\/a>. Ryan Tannehill<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0is back and looks healthy. Danny Amendola<\/a><\/strong> and Frank Gore<\/a><\/strong> are great veteran presences in the locker room. They have a potential rookie of the year in Minkah Fitzpatrick<\/a><\/strong>. The Dolphins have looked good enough during their 2-0 start. With the AFC being down in general, the Miami Dolphins are a playoff team.<\/p>\n

Adrian Peterson Should Retire<\/h3>\n

Adrian Peterson<\/strong><\/a> hasn\u2019t looked good so far in 2018. Yes, he almost had 100 yards in Week one. Unfortunately, it took him almost 30 carries to get there, as he averaged only 3.7 per carry. Week two was much worse. He rushed for 20 yards on 11 carries, with a 14-yard run. That means he ran for six yards on his other ten carries. He hasn\u2019t faced great defenses in the Arizona Cardinals<\/a> and the Indianapolis Colts<\/a>. There is no reason to keep him around. There are a ton of young running backs worthy of taking a chance on. In 2017, Peterson only averaged 3.5 per carry, and it doesn\u2019t look like 2018 will be better. Adrian Peterson should retire, and the Washington Redskins<\/a> should give a young back a chance.<\/p>\n

Michael Thomas will break single season receptions mark<\/h3>\n

Michael Thomas<\/a><\/strong> and Drew Brees<\/a><\/strong> have incredible chemistry on the field. Thomas has been targeted 30 times through two games, and he has 28 catches. He is going to slow down at some point, as he won\u2019t end up with 224 catches, which is his current pace. What Thomas will do is break the single season receptions mark of 143, set by Marvin Harrison<\/a><\/strong>. Thomas needs 116 catches over the next 14 games, which is just over eight per contest. With the amount of times that Drew Brees throws the ball, this is easily within reach. Look for Michael Thomas to easily surpass Marvin Harrison, and break the single season receptions mark.<\/p>\n

Multiple running backs will reach 100 receptions<\/h3>\n

There have been three running backs in history to reach 100 catches in a season. There are currently five running backs with 15 or more catches this season. The number of running backs to amass 100 catches in a season is going to double by the end of the 2018 season.<\/p>\n

There are going to be at least three running backs this year to reach that number. With the amount of check downs that happen, multiple backs will get there. Christian McCaffrey<\/a><\/strong> is already at 19, and will be one of the backs to get there. Passing is up, and it will help multiple backs get to 100 receptions.<\/p>\n

Last Word<\/h3>\n

As the year goes on more overreactions will be provided each week. Some of them are going to seem to be outlandish, but be based on facts and statistics. Only time will tell how many of these overreactions come true, and which are incorrect. For now, these are the NFL Week two overreactions.<\/p>\n
