McCarron<\/a><\/strong>&#8216;s time with the <a href=\"http:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/bills\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Buffalo Bills<\/a> was invariably brief.<\/p>\n<p>The team traded McCarron to the <a href=\"http:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/raiders\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Oakland Raiders<\/a> on Saturday, according to multiple reports including NFL Network&#8217;s <strong>Ian Rapoport<\/strong>. Buffalo initially signed the 27-year-old quarterback to a two-year contract this off-season. McCarron From Buffalo Bills<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>The transaction to bring in McCarron certainly wasn&#8217;t the most high-profile move the Raiders made on Saturday. Earlier in the day, <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnfl.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/2018\/09\/01\/khalil-mack-traded-to-chicago-bears\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the team dealt All-Pro edge rusher<\/a> <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/M\/MackKh00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Khalil Mack<\/a><\/strong> to the <a href=\"http:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/bears\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Chicago Bears<\/a> in exchange for multiple first-round picks. What also cleared the way for McCarron&#8217;s arrival was the release of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/C\/CookCo00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Connor Cook<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>McCarron dealt with injury and inconsistency during the preseason for the Bills. He completed 70 percent of his passes for 116 passing yards in the opener against the <a href=\"http:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/panthers\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Carolina Panthers<\/a>. But a week later against the <a href=\"http:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/browns\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cleveland Browns<\/a>, he was just 3\/6 for 12 yards in a quarter of action. <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnfl.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/2018\/08\/17\/a-j-mccarron-injury-bills\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">He also suffered a collarbone injury<\/a> which ruled him out of Buffalo&#8217;s Week Three tussle with McCarron&#8217;s former team, the <a href=\"http:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/bengals\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cincinnati Bengals<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In the preseason finale against the Bears, McCarron played the entirety of the game. It wasn&#8217;t pretty for three of the four quarters. At one point in the third, his quarterback rating stood at 0.0. But then he led the team on a precipitous comeback in the fourth. The team ultimately erased a 24-point deficit en route to a 28-27 victory.<\/p>\n<p>McCarron&#8217;s departure means that, for the time being, rookie <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=AlleJo00,AlleJo02&amp;search=Josh+Allen&amp;utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Josh Allen<\/a><\/strong> and second-year man <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/P\/PeteNa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nathan Peterman<\/a><\/strong> are the only two quarterbacks on the Bills roster. Meanwhile, McCarron joins former Bills first-round pick <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/M\/ManuEJ00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>E.J. Manuel<\/strong><\/a> behind <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/C\/CarrDe02.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Derek Carr<\/a><\/strong> on the Raiders depth chart at the position.
