Some of the more notable injuries in week seven include\u00a0<strong>Washington Redskins<\/strong>\u00a0cornerback<strong> Josh\u00a0Norman<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Buffalo Bills<\/strong> running back\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/M\/McCoLe01.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">LeSean McCoy<\/a><\/strong>. Below is list of the week seven injuries, as well as the status of recent injuries prior to week seven.<\/p>\n<h2>NFL Week Seven Injury Update<\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Cleveland Browns &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/K\/KessCo00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cody Kessler<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>Cleveland Browns<\/strong> have seen six different players take snaps under center during the 2016 season. They have now added rookie<b>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/H\/HogaKe00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kevin Hogan<\/a><\/b>, a seventh quarterback to that growing list.<\/p>\n<p>Kessler remains in the\u00a0<strong>NFL\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Concussion Protocol<\/strong>, head coach<strong> Hue Jackson<\/strong> told reporters on Monday. The Browns rookie quarterback suffered a concussion in Cleveland&#8217;s 31-17 loss to the\u00a0<strong>Cincinnati Bengals<\/strong> on Sunday. Jackson said that<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/M\/McCoJo01.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Josh McCown<\/a><\/strong> has been practicing, but didn&#8217;t commit to the veteran until he sees more out of him in practice this week before they take on the<strong> New York Jets<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>New York Jets &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/S\/SmitGe00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Geno Smith<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>On Monday the<strong> New York Jets<\/strong> announced that quarterback<strong> Geno Smith<\/strong> underwent an MRI which showed that he, in fact, tore his ACL, and will miss the rest of the season.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ESPN<\/strong> reports that Smith does plan on getting a second opinion.<\/p>\n<p>Smith, 26, is in the fourth and final year of his rookie contract with the Jets. New York has seemed more than ready to move on from the quarterback ever since a locker room altercation back in 2015 when Smith had his jaw broken from one of his own teammates.<\/p>\n<p>Smith left Sunday&#8217;s game against the<strong> Baltimore Ravens<\/strong> in the second quarter after taking a sack from Baltimore&#8217;s linebacker\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/J\/JudoMa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Matt Judon<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Houston Texans &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/N\/NewtDe00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Derek Newton<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The<strong> Houston Texans<\/strong> fear that right tackle<strong> Derek Newton\u00a0<\/strong>suffered a torn patella in both his knees before he was carted off the field in the first quarter of the Texans-Broncos game on Monday Night&#8217;s 27-9 loss to the<strong> Denver Broncos<\/strong>. Tackle<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/C\/ClarCh21.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Chris Clark<\/a><\/strong> replaced Newton, while the Texans will have further information regarding the status of Derek Newton in the coming days.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Washington Redskins &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=NormJo01,NormJo00&amp;search=Josh+Norman&amp;utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Josh Norman<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/W\/WillTr21.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Trent Williams<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The<strong> Washington Redskins<\/strong> lost two of their best players in a heartbreaking defeat to the<strong> Detroit Lions<\/strong>, 20-17 on Sunday at\u00a0<strong>Ford&#8217;s Field<\/strong>. Cornerback\u00a0<strong>Josh Norman<\/strong> and left tackle<strong> Trent Williams<\/strong> both had to leave the game with injuries in the second half.<\/p>\n<p>Norman suffered a concussion in the third quarter on a 52-yard pass play that he allowed to the Lions wide receiver\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=JoneMa23,JoneMa02&amp;search=Marvin+Jones&amp;utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Marvin Jones<\/a> Jr.\u00a0<\/strong>, the receivers first catch of the game. Norman remained on the ground for a period of time, in obvious discomfort, before slowly walking toward the locker room.<\/p>\n<p>Norman&#8217;s status for next week against the<strong> Cincinnati Bengals<\/strong> is still unclear for the moment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Trent Williams<\/strong> went down on the second-to-last play of the game. He apparently suffered a left knee sprain on Washington&#8217;s last attempt to tie the score. Williams needed help while walking off the field, and had a noticeable limp in the locker room after the game. Williams admitted he was in pain, but couldn&#8217;t tell how significant the injury will be. The Redskins will know more about Williams injury after he undergoes an MRI on Monday.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Atlanta Falcons &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/C\/ColeTe01.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tevin Coleman<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Atlanta Falcons<\/strong> head coach<strong> Dan Quinn\u00a0<\/strong>said he would know more about<strong> Tevin Coleman<\/strong>&#8216;s hamstring strain during the next couple of days, but the Falcons head coach did sound prepared to make a roster move just in case the running back is sidelined for an extended period of time.<\/p>\n<p>A source told\u00a0<strong>ESPN<\/strong>&#8216;s\u00a0<strong> Adam Schefter<\/strong> that Coleman who aggravated his hamstring against the\u00a0<strong>San Diego Chargers<\/strong> is unlikely to play against the\u00a0<strong>Green Bay Packers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Head coach Dan Quinn indicated that the team would likely look internally for help at running back, with starter\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/F\/FreeDe00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Devonta Freeman<\/a><\/strong> the only back on the active roster.\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/W\/WardTe00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Terron Ward<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>is on the practice squad.<\/p>\n<p>Last year<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/W\/Wardxx20.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Ward<\/a> played in 13 games and rushed for 95 yards and one touchdown.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Buffalo Bills &#8211; LeSean McCoy<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Buffalo Bills<\/strong> running back<strong> LeSean McCoy<\/strong> ran the ball eight times for just eleven yards before exiting the game with a hamstring injury. After the game against the<strong> Miami Dolphins<\/strong>, McCoy told reporters he felt &#8220;amazing&#8221; during the pregame warmups, but felt pain once he had a few touches. McCoy will likely be a question mark against the<strong> New England Patriots<\/strong> if his hamstring continues to be an issue.<\/p>\n<p>Even if<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/M\/McCoxx20.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> McCoy<\/a> can make it a go, look for\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/G\/GillMi00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mike Gillislee<\/a><\/strong> to help carry the load against the Patriots.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Tampa Bay Buccaneers &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=MartDo21,MartDo00&amp;search=Doug+Martin&amp;utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Doug Martin<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>When<strong> Tampa Bay Buccaneers<\/strong> running back<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/S\/SimsCh00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Charles Sims<\/a><\/strong> was placed on Injured Reserve, it allowed for running back<strong> Doug Martin<\/strong> to finish the season as their lone back. But then Martin suffered his own setback during practice, and head coach\u00a0<strong>Dirk Koetter\u00a0<\/strong>admitted that he doesn&#8217;t know how long it will take for Martin to return.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/R\/RodgJa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jacquizz Rodgers<\/a><\/strong> has done a great job filling in for Doug Martin and Charles Sims while they&#8217;ve been out, rushing for over 100 yards in back-to-back games. Even\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/B\/BarbPe01.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Peyton Barber<\/a><\/strong> had 84 yards and a touchdown against the\u00a0<strong>San Francisco 49ers<\/strong>. If both Rodgers and Barber can continue to produce, it could allow the Bucs to rest Martin a little longer.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Detroit Lions &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/R\/RiddTh00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Theo Riddick<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Theo Riddick<\/strong> of the<strong> Detroit Lions<\/strong> has missed the last two games, and hasn&#8217;t been able to get on the practice field. The Lions could really use Riddick considering he&#8217;s their biggest threat out of the backfield. In order for Riddick to play this Sunday against the<strong> Houston Texans<\/strong>, he needs to get on the practice field.<\/p>\n<p>If Riddick is unable to make it back on the field, look for the recently acquired\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/F\/ForsJu00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Justin Forsett<\/a><\/strong>, as well as\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/Z\/ZennZa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Zach Zenner<\/a><\/strong> to continue to get the carries. Renner saw the most carries in week six while scoring a touchdown.
