While he did get signed by the Chiefs in late November of 2017, his elite days were still behind him. Still, Revis retires with a nice legacy behind him. He spent most of his career with the New York Jets. Revis has the third most interceptions in franchise history (25) and holds the franchise record for most passes defended (111). Though that was a stat that was not recorded until more recently in NFL history, that is still an impressive mark on his record.

Revis was drafted by the Jets in 2007 with the 14th pick, who traded up to get him. That ended up paying off. During his initial tenure with the Jets he picked up four straight Pro Bowl berths (2008-2011). His best season likely came in 2009 when he had six interceptions and defended 31 passes. Both of those were career season highs for him. Also of note is a 100-yard pick-six he had in 2011, which is tied for a franchise record with Aaron Glenn.

Revis was traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2013. After only one year there, he was released and went to the New England Patriots, where he also spent just one year but won a Super Bowl ring. Revis then returned to the Jets in 2015 and stayed there until being cut after the 2016 season. Despite all the team-hopping, he picked up Pro Bowl berths from 2013 to 2015 as well.

Revis finished his career with 29 interceptions, 497 tackles, and six forced fumbles, along with ten recoveries. Despite his level of play dropping during his final couple of years, Revis’ level of play during his elite years, which earned him his nickname “Revis Island,” will still be remembered.

Main Photo

Embed from Getty Images

Darrelle Revis Retires: After 11 years in the NFL, the seven-time Pro Bowler and likely future Hall of Fame cornerback has called it a career.

[36,2
465,61,122,38,218,40,308
post-45937","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-nfl-news","category-featured","tag-darrelle-revis","tag-football","tag-kansas-city-chiefs","tag-new-england-patriots","tag-new-york-jets","tag-nfl","tag-tampa-bay-buccaneers
["GET
