This offseason, the Tennessee Titans<\/strong> front office and new general manager Jon Robinson have been hard at work to part ways with unproductive players from previous management. Today, the Titans have decided to part ways with wide receiver\u00a0Justin Hunter<\/a><\/strong> and running back\u00a0Bishop Sankey<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Bishop Sankey and Justin Hunter Cut by Titans<\/h2>\n

Hunter, a former second round pick in the 2013 NFL<\/strong> Draft, has not come close to the lofty expectations held for him coming out of\u00a0University of Tennessee<\/strong>. In his previous three\u00a0NFL seasons, he has played in a combined 35 games and has never topped 500 receiving yards in a single season. He has eight career receiving touchdowns to go along with 1,116 career receiving yards.<\/p>\n

Sankey,\u00a0a second round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, has also underwhelmed during his time in Tennessee. While Sankey racked up over 550 rushing yards in his rookie season, he struggled mightily last season and fell out of favor in the Titans rushing attack. Having been replaced by\u00a0Antonio Andrews<\/a><\/strong> as the starter, Sankey managed to put up a measly 193 rushing yards in 13 games played. While he did have an average yards-per-carry of over four, there was truly no place for him on the roster with the offseason acquisitions of former Pro Bowler\u00a0DeMarco Murray<\/a><\/strong> and Heisman winner\u00a0Derrick Henry<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Looking forward in both of their careers, they can certainly expect to be picked up by a team that is willing to take a chance on a young player with potential. A team like the\u00a0Cleveland Browns<\/strong> is certainly an option for Hunter, as they have very limited depth at wide receiver and can afford to take a risk on a player of his caliber. For Sankey, perhaps the\u00a0Washington Redskins<\/strong>, a team looking for a decent backup running back, could be an option for him heading forward.
