The weekend&#8217;s action saw its share of injuries on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball. Below is a list of some of the injuries that could have an impact in week seven, as well as the rest of the 2016 season.<\/p>\n<h2>NFL Week Six Injury Update<\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Pittsburgh Steelers &#8211; Ben Roethlisberger<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Steelers quarterback<strong> Ben Roethlisberger<\/strong> has been ruled out of Sunday&#8217;s matchup against the<strong> AFC East<\/strong> leading<strong> New England Patriots<\/strong> after suffering a torn meniscus in his left knee.<\/p>\n<p>The four-time <strong>Pro Bowler\u00a0<\/strong>underwent surgery on Monday to clean up his torn meniscus, which he suffered in the Steelers week six loss to the<strong> Miami Dolphins<\/strong>. The veteran quarterback opted against a full repair in hopes that a &#8216;clean up&#8217; will allow him back on the football field by week nine when Pittsburgh takes on their divisional rival, the<strong> Baltimore Ravens<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>On the season, Roethlisberger has thrown for 1,685 yards with 16 touchdowns and only six interceptions while completing 64.2% of his passes. Backup<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/J\/JoneLa02.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Landry Jones<\/a><\/strong> will fill in for the two-time<strong> Super Bowl<\/strong> champ.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Tampa Bay Buccaneers &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/J\/JackVi00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Vincent Jackson<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The<strong> Tampa Bay Buccaneers<\/strong> have placed wide receiver\u00a0<strong>Vincent Jackson<\/strong>\u00a0on the injured reserve after an MRI revealed that the veteran receiver had suffered an ACL injury.<\/p>\n<p>According to<strong> Ian Rapoport<\/strong> of the<strong> NFL Network<\/strong>, Jackson apparently played through the injury prior to the Buccaneers bye week when they took on their divisional rivals, the<strong> Carolina Panthers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Green Bay Packers &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/S\/ShieSa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sam Shields<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>On Tuesday, the<strong> Green Bay Packers<\/strong> announced that they have placed cornerback\u00a0<strong>Sam Shields<\/strong>\u00a0on injured reserve as he continues to recover from concussion that he suffered in week one.<\/p>\n<p>Shields&#8217; latest concussion was the fifth of his career, which is quite significant. NFL Network&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mike Garafolo<\/strong> has reported that the Packers organization is very serious about making sure that Shields is a 100% healthy before clearing him to play.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Green Bay Packers &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/L\/LacyEd00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Eddie Lacy<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Packers running back\u00a0<strong>Eddie Lacy<\/strong>\u00a0was unable to participate in practice on Tuesday, making his status for Thursday night&#8217;s game against the<strong> Chicago Bears<\/strong> unclear.<\/p>\n<p>With backup running back\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/S\/StarJa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">James Starks<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>on IR after undergoing knee surgery, and Lacy dealing with a nagging ankle injury, the Packers acquired running back\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/D\/DaviKn00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Knile Davis<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>from the<strong> Kansas City Chiefs<\/strong> in a trade on Tuesday. Green Bay&#8217;s head coach\u00a0<strong>Mike McCarthy<\/strong>\u00a0hinted that Davis might not be brought up to speed in time for Thursday night&#8217;s game against the Bears.<\/p>\n<p>The Packers only other running back is\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/J\/JackDo20.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Don Jackson<\/a><\/strong>, who still happens to be on the practice squad. Look for the Packers to line up receiver\u00a0<b><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/M\/MontTy01.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ty Montgomery<\/a><\/b>\u00a0in the backfield numerous times against the Chicago Bears.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>New York Jets &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/D\/DeckEr00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Eric Decker<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>On Tuesday, the\u00a0<strong>New York Jets<\/strong> announced that wide receiver<strong> Eric Decker<\/strong> underwent hip surgery, which not only ends his 2016 season, but also puts the start of his 2017 season in jeopardy as well.<\/p>\n<p>Decker will need at least six months to recover from hip surgery, and he won&#8217;t be able to undergo shoulder surgery until he&#8217;s off of crutches. The surgery for his shoulder is expected to take an additional eight months of recovery time.<\/p>\n<p>As of now, the Jets are unclear on how the recovery time for both surgeries will play out. But it does appear that he will miss the start of the 2017 season at the very least.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>New York Giants &#8211; Odell Beckham Jr.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The<strong> New York Giants<\/strong> star wide receiver\u00a0<strong>Odell Beckham Jr.<\/strong>\u00a0suffered a hip pointer during the Giants win over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, but you never would&#8217;ve of noticed with Beckham&#8217;s 222 receiving yards and two touchdowns.<\/p>\n<p>Beckham will continue to receive treatment on his hip, and isn&#8217;t expected to miss any time.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Seattle Seahawks &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=BennMi99,BennMi00,BennMi01&amp;search=Michael+Bennett&amp;utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Michael Bennett<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Seattle Seahawks<\/strong> defensive end\u00a0<strong>Michael Bennett<\/strong>\u00a0suffered a right knee injury in the Seahawks win over the<strong> Atlanta Falcons<\/strong> on Sunday. Bennett suffered the injury when Atlanta&#8217;s offensive lineman\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/M\/MattJa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jake Matthews<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0cut-blocked him in the third quarter.
