Burton received a hand-off from running back <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/C\/ClemCo00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Corey Clement<\/a> <\/strong>following a direct snap on the play and completed a touchdown pass to quarterback <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/F\/FoleNi00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nick Foles<\/a><\/strong> that gave Philadelphia a 10-point halftime lead.<\/p>\n<p>Burton signed with the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/eagles\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Philadelphia Eagles<\/a> as an undrafted free agent in 2014 and was primarily a special teams contributor in his first two NFL seasons under then-Eagles head coach <strong>Chip Kelly<\/strong>. Burton <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nj.com\/eagles\/index.ssf\/2018\/02\/eagles_arent_expected_to_re-sign_te_trey_burton_source_says.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reportedly declined<\/a> a low contract offer from the Eagles in February, although the tight end <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/8Q37BVGtVhQ\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">denied<\/a> those reports the week before free agency and claimed that he &#8220;would love to be back.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In college, Burton played multiple positions at Florida in <strong>Urban Meyer<\/strong>&#8216;s spread offense, including wide receiver, tight end, quarterback, and fullback. As a freshman, Burton set a Florida Gators franchise record when he scored six touchdowns in a single game.
