Michael Bennett<\/a><\/strong> is done in Seattle. Sources around the NFL are confirming that Bennett is being shipped to the Philadelphia Eagles along with a seventh-round pick for the Eagles fifth-round pick and wide receiver Marcus Johnson<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Rumors about Bennett being traded were being circulated for a few days. Most reasoned that it was because Seattle wanted to \u201cquiet down the team.\u201d Bennett was one of many Seahawks players who are very outspoken about social issues. There are rising whispers about other players like Richard Sherman<\/a><\/strong> not returning to the team as well.<\/p>\n

Bennett had been with the Seahawks since 2013. During his time there, he racked up 185 combined tackles, 31 sacks,\u00a0and four forced fumbles. Last season he had 8.5 sacks<\/a>, and his 80 play disruptions ranked 6th<\/sup> in the NFL<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This was actually Bennett\u2019s second stint in Seattle. He was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Texas A&M in 2009. He ended up being waived by the team before seeing any game time. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers claimed him off waivers. Bennett played four seasons with them<\/a>, compiling 15 sacks and 50 tackles as a pass-rushing defensive tackle. He signed with the Seattle Seahawks as a free agent in 2013<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Now Bennett joins a defense that was ranked fourth overall<\/a> in the league. They also had the highest play disruption<\/a> rate at 52.9 percent. He should fit right in with his new team, and fellow defensive lineman\/activist, Chris Long<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This also means that edge rusher Vinny Curry<\/a>, who was already rumored to be a cap casualty, is likely done in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n
