Just a two-star recruit out of high school, Sitton committed to the University of Central Florida where he would play right guard before switching to right tackle his sophomore year. Drafted in the fourth round of the 2008 NFL Draft by the Packers, he took over as the full-time starter in 2009 and would start 110 of a possible 112 games over the rest of his tenure with the team. Sitton was the best lineman on the Packers 2010 Super Bowl team and developed into one of the league’s premier pass blockers at the guard position.

The Packers surprisingly cut Sitton in 2016 before he quickly signed a three-year, $21.5 million deal with the Bears. He played his first two years of the deal before being released in February. Sitton has continued to excel at both left and right guard even though he has been cut from two different teams in as many years. He has been elected to four Pro Bowls in his career and was an All-Pro three consecutive seasons from 2013-2015.

In a league desperate for quality offensive line play, Sitton should still have a few good years to offer numerous franchises. He has still been durable even at age 31. Sitton has only missed eight games to injury in the past nine seasons. He has experience at both guard positions and has proven he could play tackle in a pinch. Any team would benefit from signing the former All-Pro to a short-term deal. Sitton could also be a top-notch mentor to a younger player behind him.

Embed from Getty Images

With the impending release of center Mike Pouncey, the Miami Dolphins need reinforcements on their offensive line.
