The towering defensive end signed a four-year, $60 million deal with the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/jaguars\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jacksonville Jaguars<\/a> after spending the first nine seasons of his pro career with the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/cardinals\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Arizona Cardinals<\/a>. Arizona also lost safety <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/J\/JeffTo00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tony Jefferson<\/a><\/strong> who left for the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/ravens\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Baltimore Ravens<\/a>. As a result of those and a few other departures, the Cardinals received the first compensatory pick of the draft which takes place in the third round.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/texans\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Houston Texans<\/a> were another beneficiary of this process. That doesn&#8217;t come as much of a surprise considering their immensely talented cornerback <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/B\/BouyA.00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">A.J. Bouye<\/a><\/strong> also signed with the Jags last season. They also received a third-round comp pick, in addition to the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/broncos\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Denver Broncos<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/bengals\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cincinnati Bengals<\/a>. Among the players those two teams lost in free agency were offensive linemen <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/O\/OkunRu20.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Russell Okung<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/Z\/ZeitKe00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kevin Zeitler<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>All in all, the league doled out a total of 32 compensatory selections. The Bengals, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/cowboys\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dallas Cowboys<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-team\/packers\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Green Bay Packers<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/raiders\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Oakland Raiders<\/a> received the most with four. Houston and Arizona have the second highest number with three.
