Below we address the Seattle Seahawks running back need.<\/p>\n<h1><strong>Addressing the Seattle Seahawks Running Back Need<\/strong><\/h1>\n<h3>Keep Three, Cut Three<\/h3>\n<p>Keep <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/C\/CarsCh00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Chris Carson<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=DaviMi20,DaviMi01,DaviMi21&amp;search=Mike+Davis&amp;utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mike Davis<\/a><\/strong>, and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/M\/McKiJ.00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">J.D. McKissic<\/a><\/strong>. Cut <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/R\/RawlTh00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Thomas Rawls<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/L\/LacyEd00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Eddie Lacy<\/a><\/strong>, and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/P\/ProsC.00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">C.J. Prosise<\/a><\/strong>. In 2017 Carson, Davis, and McKissic showed the most promise with Carson coming out as a frontrunner until he suffered a season-ending injury. Meanwhile Rawls, Lacy, and Prosise showed no production with Rawls and Prosise having become injury prone in their young careers. Although Rawls and Prosise\u00a0were both promising in during their initial NFL debuts, they since have seemed to go downhill as well Lacy who was once a top running back in the league and is now thought of as a joke. Prosise ended his second season on injured reserve, for the second time.<\/p>\n<h3>Sign <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/H\/HydeCa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Carlos Hyde<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>If the Seahawks decide to make a move for a running back in free agency, they need to pursue <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cfb\/players\/carlos-hyde-1.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Carlos Hyde<\/a><\/strong>, who would be a definite upgrade at their lacking position. The Seahawks need someone to rush for touchdowns in 2018 other than quarterback <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/W\/WilsRu00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Russell Wilson<\/a><\/strong>, who was the teams leading rusher in 2017. Last year, Hyde had another solid season with the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/49ers\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">San Francisco 49ers<\/a>, accounting for 938 yards and eight touchdowns.<\/p>\n<p>If the 49ers decide to re-sign Hyde, the second best option for Seattle could include\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/B\/BlouLe00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">LeGarrette Blount<\/a><\/strong>. Despite his lack of lateral speed, Scarbrough has the right physique and the ability to make cuts and run over defenders on the outside to gain the necessary yards or to score. His assets could be a good addition to the team. He&#8217;s projected to go in the fourth or fifth round of the draft. Many draft\u00a0analysts compare Scarbrough to his former Alabama teammate and current <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/titans\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tennessee Titans<\/a> running back, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/H\/HenrDe00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Derrick Henry<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Penn State&#8217;s <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cfb\/players\/saquon-barkley-1.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Saquon Barkley<\/a><\/strong> and LSU&#8217;s <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cfb\/players\/derrius-guice-1.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Derrius Guice<\/a><\/strong> would be a dream pick early on for the Seahawks but it&#8217;s highly unlikely the team uses their 18th overall pick to take a running back.<\/p>\n<p>There are many other draft options for the team to consider, including Georgia&#8217;s<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cfb\/players\/nick-chubb-1.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nick Chubb<\/a><\/strong>, Oregon&#8217;s <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cfb\/players\/royce-freeman-1.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Royce Freeman<\/a><\/strong>, and LSU&#8217;s<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=WillDa07,WillDa08&amp;search=Darrell+Williams&amp;utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Darrell Williams<\/a><\/strong>, among others.<\/p>\n<h3>Last Word<\/h3>\n<p>Since <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cfb\/players\/marshawn-lynch-1.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Marshawn Lynch<\/a><\/strong> left Seattle, most of the Seahawks running back struggles have come from injury prone players. A safe bet would be for the Seahawks to go after a more durable player in either free agency or via the draft.
