Two of those players include the\u00a0<strong>Minnesota Vikings<\/strong> right tackle,\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=SmitAn23,SmitAn02&amp;search=Andre+Smith&amp;utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Andre Smith<\/a><\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Tampa Bay Buccaneers<\/strong> running back\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/S\/SimsCh00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Charles Sims<\/a><\/strong>. Below is a list of players from around the league who were injured during week five.<\/p>\n<h2>NFL Week Five Injury Update<\/h2>\n<h3>Minnesota Vikings &#8211; Andre Smith<\/h3>\n<p>On Monday, the Minnesota Vikings announced that right tackle, Andre Smith, will undergo surgery for a torn triceps, and was placed on the injured reserve, effectively ending Smith&#8217;s season.<\/p>\n<p>With the injury to Smith, as well as offensive tackle\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/K\/KaliMa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Matt Kalil<\/a><\/strong> back in September, the Vikings signed former No. 1 overall pick,\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/L\/LongJa20.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jake Long<\/a><\/strong>, to a one-year deal to help sure up the offensive line.<\/p>\n<h3>Arizona Cardinals &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/P\/PalmCa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Carson Palmer<\/a><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Arizona<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Cardinals<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>quarterback\u00a0<strong>Carson Palmer<\/strong>, who suffered a concussion in week four against the<strong> Los Angeles Rams<\/strong>, is on track to start for the Cardinals when they face the<strong> New York Jets<\/strong>\u00a0on Monday Night Football.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, Cardinals head coach,\u00a0<strong>Bruce Arians<\/strong>, told reporters that he expects the veteran signal caller to pass the\u00a0<strong>NFL<\/strong>&#8216;s concussion protocol on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<h3>Green Bay Packers &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/L\/LacyEd00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Eddie Lacy<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>Running back\u00a0<strong>Eddie Lacy\u00a0<\/strong>of the\u00a0<strong>Green Bay Packers<\/strong> injured his ankle during the Packers 23-16 win against the<strong> New York Giants<\/strong> on Sunday night. Lacy did re-enter game against the Giants after having his ankle re-taped, but Packers head coach,\u00a0<strong>Mike McCarthy<\/strong>, told reporters on Monday that he wouldn&#8217;t know Lacy&#8217;s status for week six until they hit the practice field on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<h3>Tampa Bay Buccaneers &#8211; Charles Sims<\/h3>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>Tampa Bay Buccaneers<\/strong> have placed running back<strong> Charles Sims\u00a0<\/strong>on the injured reserve with a knee injury. With the Buccaneers starting running back,\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=MartDo21,MartDo00&amp;search=Doug+Martin&amp;utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Doug Martin<\/a><\/strong>, still working through a hamstring injury, and backup Charles Sims on the IR,\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/R\/RodgJa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jacquizz Rodgers<\/a><\/strong> will serve as the primary back with undrafted free-agent\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/B\/BarbPe01.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Peyton Barber<\/a><\/strong> serving as his backup until Martin is able to return.<\/p>\n<h3>Cleveland Browns &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/K\/KessCo00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cody Kessler<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/M\/McCoJo01.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Josh McCown<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>According to<strong> Ian Rapoport<\/strong> of the<strong> NFL Network<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Cleveland Browns<\/strong> rookie quarterback,\u00a0<strong>Cody Kessler<\/strong>, will not miss anytime after injuring his ribs in their week five loss to the<strong> New England Patriots<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>After breaking his collarbone three weeks ago, Browns veteran quarterback\u00a0<strong>Josh McCown<\/strong> will return to practice this week. Head coach\u00a0<strong>Hue Jackson<\/strong>, however, has indicated that third-round pick, Cody Kessler, who is listed as day-to-day with a rib injury, is likely to start against the\u00a0<strong>Tennessee Titans<\/strong> in week six.<\/p>\n<h3>Denver Broncos &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/S\/SiemTr00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Trevor Siemian<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network has reported that\u00a0<strong>Denver Broncos\u00a0<\/strong>quarterback<strong>, Trevor Siemian<\/strong>, will be back under center Thursday night when the Broncos take on the<strong> San Diego Chargers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Siemian injured his non-throwing shoulder in Denver&#8217;s week four win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.<\/p>\n<h3>New York Giants &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/A\/ApplEl00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Eli Apple<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/R\/RodgDo99.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>Both cornerbacks,\u00a0<strong>Eli Apple<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie<\/strong> suffered groin injuries during the<strong> New York Giants<\/strong> 23-16 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night. Their status heading into week six is still unclear.
