After a heartbreaking loss to the New England Patriots (and the refs) last week, the Jets hope to get back above .500 with a win against the 3-2 Dolphins. The Dolphins are coming off an extremely impressive win on the road against the Atlanta Falcons.

Week Seven New York Jets Keys to Victory

Limit the Turnovers

After last week’s matchup, that is one of the biggest things the Jets need to fix and it starts with quarterback Josh McCown. Though he had a great game, his two interceptions proved extremely costly and took points off the board for Gang Green. McCown needs to have better decision making against a defense that held Matt Ryan to under 20 points last week. If McCown is able to find his receivers and steadily move the ball down the field then the Jets should be in a great position to get a win.

Stop the Run

Inability to prevent opposing teams’ run games from breaking out has been New York’s Achilles heel this season. It has seemed like every opponent the Jets have faced has run the ball right down its throat. The biggest success teams have had is running the ball right up the middle. The Jets are completely exposed there and teams have been able to dominate time of possession because of it. The Dolphins enter with one of the most explosive running backs in the league and someone who has had multiple 200-yard games, Jay Ajayi. Ajayi has taken a bit of a step back this year and has yet to score a touchdown on the ground, but that doesn’t mean the Jets should take him lightly. Limiting his production could prove to the biggest factor in whether or not the Jets come out of Miami with a win.

Pass Rush

The Jets pass rush was nowhere to be found against Tom Brady and the Patriots. Though they were able to make him move in the pocket, the Jets couldn’t get constant pressure. They will enter Sunday’s game ranking 31st in total sacks only in front of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who have played one less game. As a team, the Jets have a pathetic seven sacks through six games. Though Jay Cutler is no Brady, getting pressure will still be key. Gang Green can’t let him get comfortable in the pocket and any pressure could cause a turnover, something Cutler has been known to do. The Jets defensive line will be a huge role in Sunday’s game.

Embed from Getty Images

The week seven New York Jets keys to victory include limiting the Jets turnovers, stopping the run game and getting a pass rush.

[54,6
61,977,572,593,457,89,218,40,331
post-32464","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-editorials","category-jets","tag-football","tag-jay-ajayi","tag-jay-cutler","tag-josh-mccown","tag-matt-ryan","tag-miami-dolphins","tag-new-york-jets","tag-nfl","tag-tom-brady
["GET
