That is far off of what you are used to seeing from Bell, who averaged 105.7 yards per game in 2016. It has many questioning what the reasoning could be and whether or not we will see the old Bell in the near future. Have no fear Steelers Nation and Bell fantasy owners, week three should be a week where Bell gets his groove back.<\/p>\n<h1><strong>Le&#8217;Veon Bell Could Be in for Bounce Back Week<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/vikings\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Minnesota Vikings<\/a> played a precise game in Week Two against Bell. They crowded the line of scrimmage, they stayed gap disciplined and they finished with strong tackles. The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/bears\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Chicago Bears<\/a>, however, have questions about their run defense entering this game.<\/p>\n<p>When comparing the performances of these two opposing run defenses in week two, the big noticeable difference was where the linebackers were by the time the running back touched the football.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-30679\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonnfl.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2017\/09\/Screen-Shot-2017-09-20-at-3.54.04-PM-300x180.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"180\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2017\/09\/Screen-Shot-2017-09-20-at-3.54.04-PM-300x180.png 300w, https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2017\/09\/Screen-Shot-2017-09-20-at-3.54.04-PM.png 644w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In this run <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnfl.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/2017\/09\/18\/week-two-pittsburgh-steelers-takeaways\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">against the Vikings<\/a>, by the time Bell gets the ball every lane is clogged. The team&#8217;s best tacklers in space, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/K\/KendEr00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Eric Kendricks<\/a><\/strong>, 54, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/B\/BarrAn00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Anthony Barr<\/a><\/strong>, 55, and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/S\/SmitHa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Harrison Smith<\/a><\/strong>, 22 are all untouched, filling different gaps and in space to make any tackle. In a crazy series of events, his backup <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/K\/KwiaNi00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nick Kwiatkoski<\/a><\/strong> tore his pectoral very early into his start in Week Two. It left the Bears with <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/T\/TrevDa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Danny Trevathan<\/a><\/strong>, who is playing in his second game off of patellar tendon surgery and third-string middle linebacker <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/J\/JoneCh05.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Christian Jones<\/a><\/strong>. In the first picture of the Bears defense, Danny Trevathan was just cleared out of the way for <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/R\/RodgJa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jacquizz Rodgers<\/a> <\/strong>to pick up yards. Below, he is losing his feet and putting himself well behind the play. This is what Le&#8217;Veon Bell saw all day long. He touches the ball and is immediately staring down the 6&#8217;5&#8243;, 255 pound Barr. A fullback is lined up one-on-one against Trevathan and Rodgers has the path to either follow his fullback and get <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/D\/DempQu99.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Quintin Demps<\/a><\/strong> one-on-one in open space or cut back and get <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=JackEd20,JackEd01&amp;search=Eddie+Jackson&amp;utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Eddie Jackson<\/a><\/strong> in the same situation.<\/p>\n<p>Last season, the Steelers ranked third in the NFL in run blocking efficiency, while the Buccaneers ranked 21st. Even if the Steelers regressed a bit while the Bucs improved from the year before, the Steelers should have a better unit. They should be able to get this push and get lineman into the second level in the same way this week. They can clear paths for Bell in ways that they could not in Week Two.
