Not only is it time for season long fantasy leagues, but it is also time to play some daily fantasy sports (DFS). DraftKings is back for another year of exciting daily fantasy action and once again you have a chance to win $1 million each week. In this version of the<em> Fantasy Spotlight<\/em> we focus on <a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/podcast\/twas-the-night-before-fantasy-xmas\/id1275907136?i=1000391842874&amp;mt=2\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">players to target<\/a> when making your week one DraftKings lineups. When doing so, always remember you need to build a roster of nine players (QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, TE, Flex, D) and must stay at or below the $60,000 mythical salary cap.<\/p>\n<h1><strong>Fantasy Spotlight: Week One DraftKings Targets<\/strong><\/h1>\n<h2>Quarterback<\/h2>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/M\/MannEl00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Eli Manning<\/a>: New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys<\/h3>\n<h4>Salary: $5,600<\/h4>\n<p>In what is becoming a week one tradition, the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/giants\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">New York Giants<\/a> travel to Arlington to face the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/cowboys\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dallas Cowboys<\/a> Sunday night. The Cowboys were 28th<span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0against opposing DFS quarterbacks last season. In his last four games on the road in this series,<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/M\/MannEl00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Eli Manning<\/a><\/strong> is averaging over 270 yards passing with a touchdown to interception ratio of 2.5 to 1. Look for that trend to continue Sunday night in the big D.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/H\/HoyeBr00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Brian Hoyer<\/a>: San Francisco 49ers vs Carolina Panthers<\/h3>\n<h4>Salary: $5,100<\/h4>\n<p>Many people will probably shake their head at this one, but you shouldn\u2019t. When playing these giant tournaments on DraftKings you need to find a difference maker to help you cash big. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/H\/HoyeBr00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Brian Hoyer<\/a><\/strong> can be that guy week one. Last year in six starts Hoyer had three games with 22.8 DFS points or more and he threw for over 300 yards four times. Carolina was 25th<span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0last year against opposing DFS quarterbacks. Don\u2019t sleep on Hoyer this week. His ownership percentage will be virtually non-existent.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Other Notables: <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/M\/MariMa01.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Marcus Mariota<\/a><\/strong> $6,800, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/C\/CarrDe02.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Derek Carr<\/a><\/strong> $6,700 and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/C\/CousKi00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kirk Cousins<\/a><\/strong> $6,400<\/p>\n<h2>Running Back<\/h2>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/G\/GurlTo01.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Todd Gurley<\/a>: Los Angeles Rams vs Indianapolis Colts<\/h3>\n<h4>Salary: $6,000<\/h4>\n<p>This is a big year for <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/G\/GurlTo01.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Todd Gurley<\/a><\/strong>. After a very disappointing sophomore year, Gurley will look to get his season started right. He gets a banged-up Colts defense without <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/D\/DaviVo99.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Vontae Davis<\/a><\/strong> that was 24th<span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0in DFS against opposing running backs last year. This is an ideal match-up for the Rams. Look for them to control this game on the ground with Gurley II.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/W\/WoodDa02.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Danny Woodhead<\/a>: Baltimore Ravens at Cincinnati Bengals<\/h3>\n<h4>Salary: $5,200<\/h4>\n<p>When healthy <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/W\/WoodDa02.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Danny Woodhead<\/a><\/strong> is a PPR machine, and that translates well to DFS. While his success will be tied to game flow, look for Woodhead to get about 15-20 touches on Sunday. In week one, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/J\/JoneJu02.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Julio Jones<\/a><\/strong> is that star. The defending NFC champs will be out to make a statement against the Bears 25th ranked defense against wide receivers. Jones is looking at a potential eight catch, 150 yard and two touchdown week. Use him!<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=RichPa01,RichPa20&amp;search=Paul+Richardson&amp;utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Paul Richardson<\/a>: Seattle Seahawks at Green Bay Packers<\/h3>\n<h4>Salary: $3,700<\/h4>\n<p>Another great value play for this week. Once the Seahawks traded <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/K\/KearJe01.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jermaine Kearse<\/a><\/strong> to the Jets, it opened the door for <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=RichPa01,RichPa20&amp;search=Paul+Richardson&amp;utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Paul Richardson<\/a><\/strong> to start alongside <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/B\/BaldDo00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Doug Baldwin<\/a><\/strong>. Richardson offers the threat of the big play and at his low salary is worth the risk. Ownership projection here is at 5 percent or less in the DraftKings million-dollar tournament. Walker scored eight touchdowns last year and averaged 12.7 DFS fantasy points per game. The Raiders are traveling across country for the opener and were 22nd against opposing tight ends last season. This game has high scoring written all over it, expect Walker to be a big part of it.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/E\/ErtzZa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Zach Ertz<\/a>: Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Redskins<\/h3>\n<h4>Salary: $3,500<\/h4>\n<p>Over his last three seasons, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/E\/ErtzZa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Zach Ertz<\/a><\/strong> has had games of ten, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/boxscores\/201512260phi.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">13<\/a> and 15 catches against the Redskins. The Eagles are favored on the road in a game projected to be high scoring (48 points is the over\/under). With that said, the Jaguars are a big question mark on offense and the Texas defense is projected to be at the top of the league all year. Expect high ownership for the Texans, however this is one of those situations where you take the chalk and take the points.<\/p>\n<h3>Los Angeles Rams<\/h3>\n<h4>Salary: $3,200<\/h4>\n<p>The Rams host the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/L\/LuckAn00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Andrew Luck<\/a><\/strong>-less Indianapolis Colts week one. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/T\/TolzSc00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Scott Tolzien<\/a><\/strong> is the quarterback, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/G\/GoreFr00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Frank Gore<\/a><\/strong> is another year older and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/M\/MoncDo00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Donte Moncrief<\/a><\/strong> is banged up. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/D\/DonaAa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Aaron Donald<\/a><\/strong> will not play due to his hold-out. Despite that the Rams have enough on defense to hold the depleted Colts offense in check.
