It’s been an annual tradition every year, which is why the latest NFL rumors are pointing to Jadeveon Clowney signing with a new team in the next few days. Clowney, a former first-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, has momentum to sign<\/a> with a roster imminently. He’s well ahead of other free agents, including Bobby Wagner<\/a>, Matt Milano and Von Miller, to finally land with his eighth NFL roster. Last season, the veteran joined the Dallas Cowboys, hauling in 8.5 sacks, 41 total tackles (24 solo), four passes defended, and one forced fumble while proving he’s still playing at his peak.<\/p>\n

After the Cowboys overhauled their defense and hired Christian Parker this offseason, there hasn’t been word on whether the team is open to bringing back the three-time Pro Bowler or not. However, that won’t matter since he’s expected to join the right situation and for a decent salary for a one-year contract. The veteran expressed interest in re-signing with the Ravens, but Baltimore rebuilt their defense, signing Trey Hendrickson and drafting Zion Young.<\/p>\n

The veteran isn’t going to sign for bare-bones. He’s already proven that he has the versatility and explosivity to turn a defense around. Don’t be surprised if he waits until before the postseason to sign if he receives deals that don’t meet his asking price. 4. Seattle Seahawks<\/h3>\n

Despite losing CB Riq Woolen<\/a> and defensive lineman Boye Mafe, the Seattle Seahawks still have a dangerous defense. Clowney previously played with former Ravens defensive coordinator and now Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald<\/a>. The connection is there, so pairing him alongside Demarcus Lawrence and Ernest Jones to run it back might be ideal for the veteran. Seattle might’ve lost a few key pieces, both offensively and defensively, but if they can bring back the veteran and play in a rotational role, it’d probably pay off.<\/p>\n

3. Carolina Panthers<\/h3>\n

After announcing that Nic Scourton<\/a> suffered a torn ACL<\/a>, this is probably the most logical move for the Carolina Panthers. A reunion with his team and doing it with Jaelan Phillips and Devin Lloyd in the same unit sounds like a dream scenario. The Panthers could be a sneaky postseason contender, and that could intrigue Clowney. While he didn’t have the best season last time he was here, maybe he could have a different outcome now that the Panthers have rebuilt their defense.<\/p>\n

2. Kansas City Chiefs<\/h3>\n

Meanwhile, the Kansas City Chiefs may have taken a huge blow in the secondary, but the pass-rushing unit also did. The team lost Leo Chenal<\/a> to the Washington Commanders, so they’re rolling the dice on Cole Christiansen. With Felix Anudike-Uzomah fighting for a roster spot, they could bring in Clowney to compete for the starting job or, at the very least, mentor him. The Chiefs won’t solve their defensive end issue overnight, but at least George Karlaftis will be getting some help on the other end of the scrimmage.<\/p>\n

The New England Patriots came close to winning a Super Bowl, but it feels like they could finally do it this upcoming season.
