The Clemson Tigers were one of the most disappointing teams in 2025, going 7-6 after having national championship expectations. With most of the Tigers’ key players off to the NFL, the future of the program and two-time national champion head coach Dabo Swinney is in question.

While Clemson will have several new pieces in 2026, it gets Wesco back after an injury-shortened 2025. Alongside fellow wide receiver T.J. Moore, the Tigers should have one of the best duos in the country. Can Wesco return to form after his injury, and how high can he be selected in the 2027 NFL Draft?

Bryant Wesco Jr. 2027 NFL Draft Early Player Profile

<smartframe-embed class="smartframe_wp_element" customer-id="b0c95bc04383cef69c6b47df872135cf" image-id="WmOBqKa06aC4" style="width: 100%; display: inline-flex; max-width: 4936px; aspect-ratio: 4936/3291;" ></smartframe-embed>

Measurables

Height- 6-foot-2

Weight- 195 pounds

Background

Wesco was a four-star recruit coming out of Midlothian (Texas) and the 11th-ranked wide receiver prospect in the Class of 2024. He committed to Clemson and wasted no time making an impact. In just his second collegiate game, Wesco had 130 yards and a touchdown on just three catches against Appalachian State. It was the first of his three 100-yard games as a true freshman. He was at his best when the Tigers needed it, having eight receptions for 143 yards and two touchdowns in a 34-31 victory over SMU in the ACC Championship to send Clemson to the College Football Playoff. Wesco finished 2024 with 41 catches for 708 yards and five touchdowns in 12 games.

It appeared that Wesco would build upon his impressive 2024 and emerge as an elite player as a sophomore. Through Clemson’s first six games, he racked up 31 receptions for 537 yards and six touchdowns while again having three games with over 100 receiving yards. His 2025 season was cut short by a season-ending neck injury suffered against SMU.

Bryant Wesco Jr. 2027 NFL Draft Strengths

Wesco is a smooth route runner who can shake off cornerbacks in man coverage. He is also skilled against zone coverage, changing his routes to find the soft spots of the defense. Wesco is a dangerous playmaker after the catch, as he can turn a checkdown into a huge gain. His speed allows him to stretch defenses vertically, and he’s proven to be a reliable deep threat. Wesco is excellent at tracking deep passes and adjusting himself to be in the best position to make catches. His production has been very good when he’s been on the field, and he’s been a consistent target in a deep wide receiver room.

Bryant Wesco Jr. 2027 NFL Draft Weaknesses

The biggest concern for Wesco is his injury history. He missed the final six games of 2025 with the aforementioned neck injury and also missed two games in 2024 with an ankle injury. While he should be good to go for 2026, serious durability questions remain going forward. Drops became an issue for Wesco in 2025, with a 13.9% PFF drop rate. His frame is small for an X-receiver, so he may struggle to beat press coverage at the next level.

Bryant Wesco Jr. 2027 NFL Draft Overview

The 2027 wide receiver class has several elite prospects, but also plenty of depth. Jeremiah Smith, Cam Coleman, and Ryan Coleman-Williams headline the group, but there’s plenty of promising talent further down the board. Wesco is one of the names that can begin to pop up on more and more mock drafts as the season goes on. He’s been productive when healthy, and his combination of route-running, deep-ball tracking, and abilities after the catch make him a viable candidate to rise up draft boards. If Wesco can cut down on the drops and potentially add to his frame, then he can be a legitimate X-receiver in the NFL.

His injury history may scare teams, but the talent of a reliable NFL wide receiver is there. With Commanders’ third-round pick Antonio Williams gone, Wesco can be even more productive in 2026. Early projections have him being selected in the middle of day two, either an early third-round pick or a late second-round pick. If Wesco can stay healthy, he has the chance to enter first-round conversations.

Main Image: Eric Canha-Imagn Images

Bryant Wesco Jr. was on track for a stellar 2025 before a season-ending injury.
