Gary Davenport of Bleacher Report<\/a> put together a list of five stars bound to request a trade during the 2026 season, and, to no surprise, Wilson is on that list. Despite signing a long-term $130M deal, the WR would probably play elsewhere if it means playing for a contender. Last season, the team sustained another tough losing year of 3-14, which led them to trade Quinnen Williams and Sauce Gardner.<\/p>\n

Since the Jets are trading their keystone superstars to other teams to recoup draft capital to build the next generation, why should the team hold the former first-round pick? Wilson remains a consistent pass-catcher despite finishing the 2025 season hauling in 36 receptions for 395 yards and four touchdowns. While the Jets haven’t shown interest in dealing their top receiver, the wideout could force their hand.<\/p>\n

They can’t afford to hold back their best pass-catcher. This means taking a huge step back and embracing the receivers they have in Adonai Mitchell, Omar Cooper Jr. and Tim Patrick. However, potential doesn’t speak to results, so the Saints need a playmaker to help boost this offense, especially with Chris Olave<\/a> returning from a season-ending injury last year. Olave is entering the final year of his current contract, and if he can’t live up to the moment, the Saints might be intrigued by Wilson as their next WR1.<\/p>\n

However, they could pair the two this upcoming campaign. QB Tyler Shough will be the starter, so they must ensure the Saints put him in a proper position to win as a pocket passer.<\/p>\n
