Moore (wide receiver, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/collegefootball\/category\/acc\/clemson-tigers\/\" target=\"_self\">Clemson<\/a>) had put together two solid years of production.\u00a0 His play was good enough for him to earn mentions in early mocks as a <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.cbssports.com\/college-football\/news\/2027-nfl-mock-draft-first-round-2026-positional-order\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">mid-to-late first-round pick<\/a>.\u00a0 Does the tape show this level of prospect?<\/p>\n<h2>T.J. Moore 2027 NFL Draft Early Scouting Report<\/h2>\n<h3>Measurables<\/h3>\n<p>Height: 6\u20193\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Weight: 200 lbs<\/p>\n<h3>Statistics<\/h3>\n<p>2025: 52 receptions for 837 yards and four touchdowns.<\/p>\n<p>2024: 45 receptions for 651 yards and five touchdowns.<\/p>\n<h3>The Tape<\/h3>\n<p>Games Watched: LSU, SMU, and Penn State (Bowl Game).<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"max-width: px\"><smartframe-embed class=\"smartframe_wp_element\" customer-id=\"b0c95bc04383cef69c6b47df872135cf\" image-id=\"WmOBwZzcfr4b\" style=\"width: 100%; display: inline-flex; max-width: 2639px; aspect-ratio: 2639\/1709;\" ><\/smartframe-embed><\/p>\n<h3>Strengths<\/h3>\n<p>Moore has good size and experience at \u201cX\u201d, \u201cZ\u201d, and occasionally in the slot.\u00a0 His size naturally gives him a large catch radius, and he accentuates this by showing the ability to make the highlight reel catch.\u00a0 Moore can turn passes thrown high and\/or behind him into catches, and he can also make one-handed catches.<\/p>\n<p>Moore is most effective running slant routes.\u00a0 He gets off the line without dancing and shows the ability to use his hands to keep cornerbacks off his frame.\u00a0 He also has a nice arm-over move.\u00a0 His size then presents a nice target for his quarterback.<\/p>\n<p>On his outside release, Moore has natural flexibility to allow him to dip his inside shoulder to help him avoid the press.<\/p>\n<p>There is already detail in Moore\u2019s route running, and that will improve as he enters his junior season.\u00a0 He varies his speed off the line, lulling cornerbacks into a false sense of security, before accelerating into his route.\u00a0 Moore will also fake a block, selling it well, and then run a route.\u00a0 He also has a stop-go move in his arsenal.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Clemson wide receiver T.J. The finish shows off his hands &#8211; a fantastic one-handed catch!<a  href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/hashtag\/NFLDraft?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">#NFLDraft<\/a> <a  href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/jfW8tNHT6T\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pic.twitter.com\/jfW8tNHT6T<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Paul Emery (@UKDraftFan) <a  href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/UKDraftFan\/status\/2073709779608801733?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">July 5, 2026<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.x.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Moore can find the soft spot in the zone, and he\u2019s also effective when his quarterback extends the play.\u00a0 He keeps working to get open and has a nice feel for where his quarterback is and where he needs to be to give him an option.<\/p>\n<h3>Areas to Improve<\/h3>\n<p>While Moore is a solid athlete, he\u2019s not an elite one.\u00a0 That shows up in terms of a lack of separation down the field and being limited after the catch.<\/p>\n<p>While the slow release works at times, he overuses it, and cornerbacks are expecting it.\u00a0 He would be better served using it less.\u00a0 At times, he dances around too much, and he struggles to separate as he\u2019s not moving at speed.\u00a0 To his credit, he used it less against SMU and Penn State than LSU, where he struggled to separate.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">T.J. It doesn&#39;t work, the corner stays tight to him.<a  href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/hashtag\/NFLDraft?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">#NFLDraft<\/a> <a  href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/IoPNdKb7fc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pic.twitter.com\/IoPNdKb7fc<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Paul Emery (@UKDraftFan) <a  href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/UKDraftFan\/status\/2073708097776816528?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">July 5, 2026<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.x.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Moore is better against off coverage than press.\u00a0 He has the tools to be better, and some building blocks, but he needs to be stronger and more decisive in his release against the press.<\/p>\n<p>While Moore\u2019s size suggests he would be strong in contested catch situations, that is not the case.\u00a0 The key area for him to improve is to become less passive in these situations.\u00a0 Right now, he lets the ball get into his body, and defensive backs can get their hands on the ball more easily.<\/p>\n<p>A little too often, Moore seems to lose balance in his routes or after the catch.\u00a0 He needs to keep himself under control consistently.<\/p>\n<p>Moore is not a great blocker.\u00a0 He\u2019s more of a position wall-off blocker than someone who is aggressive and dominating.\u00a0 NFL scouts will want to see more in this area.<\/p>\n<h3>Key Tests in 2026<\/h3>\n<p>The season starts with the biggest test for Moore.\u00a0 A visit to Baton Rouge to take on <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/collegefootball\/category\/sec\/lsu-tigers\/\" target=\"_self\">LSU<\/a> will give him the chance to show scouts how much he has improved in the last year.<\/p>\n<p>Other tests for Moore include <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/collegefootball\/category\/acc\/miami-hurricanes\/\" target=\"_self\">Miami<\/a> (October 3), at <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/collegefootball\/category\/acc\/florida-state-seminoles\/\" target=\"_self\">Florida State<\/a> (October 31), and the annual <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/collegefootball\/category\/sec\/south-carolina-gamecocks\/\" target=\"_self\">South Carolina<\/a> game (November 28).<\/p>\n<p>The full schedule <a  href=\"https:\/\/fbschedules.com\/2026-clemson-football-schedule\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">can be found here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>T.J.
