Tampa Bay’s underwhelming year led to several major offseason changes.

It started with the departures of multiple key contributors from the 2025 team in free agency. Wide receiver Mike Evans, cornerback Jamel Dean, linebacker Haason Reddick, defensive lineman Logan Hall and running back Rachaad White all left for other teams. On top of that, Lavonte David hung up his cleats after 14 NFL seasons.

The Bucs also brought in several free agents, signing linebacker Alex Anzalone, running back Kenneth Gainwell, defensive lineman A’Shawn Robinson and linebacker Al-Quadin Muhammad to fill key rotational roles, along with several other depth additions.

Bucs general manager Jason Licht has made a habit of signing veteran free agents shortly before training camp begins to round out his roster.

Tampa Bay has signed veterans such as wide receiver Julio Jones, running back LeSean McCoy, tight end Kyle Rudolph and defensive lineman William Gholston during the month of July.

The Bucs currently have $8.38 million in available salary cap space. That likely takes some of the more high-profile remaining free agents — including wide receivers Deebo Samuel and Tyreek Hill and left tackle Taylor Decker — off Tampa Bay’s radar.

However, if Licht wants to add a few finishing touches to the 2026 roster, there are still several quality options within the team’s price range.

Here are five free agents the Bucs could sign before training camp begins July 27.

TE Jonnu Smith

Jonnu Smith saw his production dip significantly in his first season with Pittsburgh. The nine-year veteran finished with 222 receiving yards, his fewest since his rookie season.

Smith has shown he can be a key contributor in a passing attack. He totaled 50 receptions for 582 yards with Atlanta in 2023 before posting career highs with 88 receptions and 884 receiving yards with Miami in 2024.

Tampa Bay’s tight end room could use a boost in production. The Bucs ranked last in the NFL in receptions and receiving yards from the position last season.

Cade Otton finished second on the team with 572 receiving yards. The rest of the Buccaneers’ tight ends combined for just two receptions, 17 receiving yards and one touchdown in 2026.

New offensive coordinator Zac Robinson will likely look to get the tight ends more involved. Robinson’s Falcons offense used two-tight-end sets on 38% of its offensive snaps last season, the second-highest rate in the NFL.

While Smith is not considered a strong blocker, Otton’s versatility as both a blocker and receiver could allow Smith to thrive in a Buccaneers offense that could use another playmaker at tight end.

EDGE Leonard Floyd

Leonard Floyd is a 10-year veteran coming off a season in which he struggled with Atlanta.

Floyd recorded just 3.5 sacks in 15 games after posting at least 8.5 sacks in each of the previous five seasons.

Although his snap count declined as the Falcons gave rookie first-round edge rushers Jalon Walker and James Pearce Jr. more opportunities, Floyd remained part of Atlanta’s pass-rush rotation.

He could provide a spark to a Buccaneers pass rush that finished 19th in the NFL in sacks last season. Addressing that weakness has clearly been a priority for Licht, who drafted Reuben Bain Jr. and signed Muhammad this offseason.

The Bucs could sign Floyd to an inexpensive contract and hope he regains his previous form while also serving as a mentor for the team’s young edge rushers.

LB Bobby Wagner

With Tampa Bay legend Lavonte David retiring this offseason, could the Bucs pursue fellow 2012 draft pick Bobby Wagner?

Wagner is one of the few linebackers whose production has consistently matched David’s over the past decade. He could provide a steadying presence to a Tampa Bay linebacker group that still has several question marks.

<smartframe-embed class="smartframe_wp_element" customer-id="b0c95bc04383cef69c6b47df872135cf" image-id="WmOBpqIDPp4Z" style="width: 100%; display: inline-flex; max-width: 4979px; aspect-ratio: 4979/3319;" ></smartframe-embed>

The Buccaneers struggled in coverage at linebacker last season, ranking in the bottom half of the league in receiving yards allowed to opposing running backs and tight ends. Tampa Bay was repeatedly burned over the middle of the field on explosive plays.

The Bucs are expected to rely on Anzalone, rookie Josaiah Trotter and SirVocea Dennis, who struggled last season.

Wagner proved he can still produce at a high level in 2025, recording 162 tackles, 4.5 sacks and two interceptions with the Washington Commanders.

The former All-Pro would be the closest replacement the Buccaneers could find for David and could complete the linebacker room.

C Ethan Pocic

Ethan Pocic was one of several Cleveland Browns offensive linemen who departed this offseason.

Pocic started 13 games at center for Cleveland last season. According to Pro Football Focus, he ranked 20th among centers. He allowed two sacks and three quarterback hits while posting an average run-blocking grade.

Tampa Bay likely would not sign Pocic to start but rather to provide valuable interior offensive line depth. Guard Cody Mauch is returning from a torn ACL, while Ben Bredeson also missed multiple games because of injuries.

In addition, starting center Graham Barton endured an inconsistent season. Barton opened the year at left tackle while Tristan Wirfs recovered from injury before moving back to center after three games. Once he returned to center, he ranked 26th at the position, according to Pro Football Focus.

Pocic would give the Buccaneers additional stability along the interior offensive line in case injuries arise again or Barton’s struggles continue in 2026.

CB Kenny Moore II

Kenny Moore II was granted his release by the Indianapolis Colts this offseason.

Moore reportedly sought his release because he was not an ideal fit in defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo’s scheme and wanted to join a contender where his skill set was a better match.

Moore’s aggressive style as a slot corner would fit well in Todd Bowles’ defense.

Tampa Bay’s secondary remains unsettled after allowing Dean to leave in free agency. Second-year corners Benjamin Morrison and Jacob Parrish are expected to compete for Dean’s former outside corner spot. If Parrish wins that job, the Buccaneers would still need a starting nickel corner. Rookie Keonte Scott is one candidate to fill that role.

However, if the Bucs are not comfortable with what they see from their young defensive backs during training camp, Moore could be an experienced veteran capable of stepping into the starting nickel role immediately.

Main Photo Courtesy of Robert Goddin – Imagn Images

With training camp just around the corner, the Tampa Bay Buccaneeers could look to sign these five free agents to round out its roster before the 2026 season. 5 Free Agents The Bucs Can Sign Before Training Camp to Bolster Their Roster The Buccaneers are coming off a disappointing 8-9 season.
