After Tyson emerged as one of the best wide receivers in the nation, the Sun Devils acquired another transfer wide receiver from Colorado. Omarion Miller burst onto the scene in 2025, leading the Buffaloes in all three major receiving stats. He’s now with their Big 12 rival in Tempe and looks to fill the role that Tyson left. What made Miller so productive last season, and how will it translate to the NFL?

Omarion Miller 2027 NFL Draft Early Player Profile

Measurables

Height- 6-foot-2

Weight- 210 pounds

Background

Miller was a four-star recruit coming out of North Caddo (Louisiana) and the 51st-ranked wide receiver prospect in the Class of 2023. He committed to play for coach Deion Sanders at Colorado. Miller saw limited action as a true freshman, having 11 catches for 234 yards and a touchdown in 10 games. Most of his production came in a breakout performance against USC, where he caught seven passes for 196 yards and his lone touchdown in 2023. Colorado took a massive leap in 2024, going 9-4 with star Travis Hunter winning the Heisman Trophy. Miller had 10 receptions for 216 yards and a touchdown through the first six games, but his season was cut short by a broken leg.

After missing the final seven games of his sophomore campaign, Miller put everything together in 2025. With Hunter gone, he stepped up as the primary pass catcher for the Buffaloes. He racked up 45 catches for 808 yards and eight touchdowns across 11 games. Miller had two games with over 100 receiving yards and two other games with two touchdowns. After three seasons in Boulder, Miller transferred to Arizona State for the 2026 season.

Omarion Miller 2027 NFL Draft Strengths

<smartframe-embed class="smartframe_wp_element" customer-id="b0c95bc04383cef69c6b47df872135cf" image-id="WmOBlC3x1Zw8" style="width: 100%; display: inline-flex; max-width: 3000px; aspect-ratio: 3000/4500;" ></smartframe-embed>

Miller has the ideal size and frame for an X-receiver at the next level. He’s shown the ability to fight through press coverage and physically match up with boundary cornerbacks. His deep-ball tracking is excellent, which makes him a vertical threat who can come down with contested catches. Miller can pick up yards after the catch using his impressive physicality. He sheds tackles and regularly stays on his feet after initial contact.

His football IQ is also a strength, with him consistently finds the soft spots in zone coverage. Miller is a great red-zone option for an offense, and he can make catches up the middle of the field in traffic. He is a capable receiving threat on all three levels.

Omarion Miller 2027 NFL Draft Weaknesses

While Miller has impressive play strength, his top-end speed is limited. Although he can use his physicality to make defenders miss after the catch, his limited burst and twitch give him a ceiling in that aspect of his game. Miller struggled with drops in 2025, having six in his first full season of action. While he is a capable route runner, he doesn’t create a ton of separation against man coverage. Miller has also struggled with injuries, missing the second half of 2024 with the aforementioned broken leg and a game in 2025 due to a hamstring injury.

Omarion Miller 2027 NFL Draft Overview

The 2027 NFL Draft is expected to be a strong one at wide receiver. Jeremiah Smith, Cam Coleman, and Ryan Coleman-Williams headline the class. Beyond the top three, there is a deep second tier of wide receiver prospects on the board. Miller is one of the names in that group and is among the top X-receivers available. His combination of size, physicality, and ball-tracking ability should translate into being a productive boundary receiver at the next level. He is a good enough route runner to beat man coverage; it’s just a matter of avoiding drops. His durability is a major question, as it was with Tyson.

Miller currently projects as a second-round pick, with the possibility of sneaking into the back end of the first round. He finally got to show his potential in 2025 and proved he could be the number one option in a wide receiver room. If Miller can have another productive season in 2026, he can firmly enter first-round conversations for the 2027 NFL Draft.

Main Image: Mark Henle/The Republic / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images

Arizona State has had recent success finding wide receivers through the transfer portal.
