The Indianapolis Colts<\/a> made some moves this off-season, and one of them was releasing cornerback Kenny Moore, who was cut from the team back in May after it was\u00a0reported<\/a> they were unable to find a trade partner. Now Moore is in search of a new home, but he’s still thankful for his time in the blue and white.<\/p>\n

Moore went on SiriusXM NFL Radio and talked about his future in the league and what he can bring to a defense.<\/p>\n

“I’m at the perfect point in my career where I really want to win, and hopefully that comes with a team that has the culture, the scheme set up for me,” Moore<\/a> said.<\/span> “I just don’t want to be a guy on the team, because I feel like I have so many strengths to give to the secondary or give to the team, and just be a leader. But for me, I was putting down in my notes probably two days ago, whenever I was flying in. It’s more so, whatever role I have on a team, it’s more so like perfecting that role and not really — it’s less about me. I don’t talk about me.”\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Moore went to add, “I want to talk about how I can be in a new place and serve. I want to serve not just the team, not just learning the plays, but I want to serve the community and continuing everything I was doing in Indy. Where I was in Indy, it was less me and more about the team. So I want to be a team guy and I want to win and hopefully we can do that together.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Kenny Moore Overview<\/h3>\n

Moore went undrafted in the 2017 NFL Draft and signed with the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent but was later waived by the Pats and then signed with the Colts. Moore was able to make an impact on the defense quickly, primarily playing the slot corner. He’s a versatile player who can be on the outside, in the slot, or at safety within a secondary. Throughout his career in Indianapolis, Moore totaled 649 tackles and 21 interceptions to go along with four pick-6s, 11.5 sacks, and six forced fumbles. He was named to the Pro Bowl in 2021 and even set a franchise record for two pick-6s against the Carolina Panthers in Week 9 of the 2023 season.<\/p>\n

Moore was seen as a leader for the Colts, being named a team captain four consecutive times in 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025. Moore spent nine seasons in Indianapolis, but his time there has concluded.<\/p>\n

Moore Thankful for Time in Indianapolis<\/h3>\n

Moore also spoke about how grateful he is to the Colts<\/a> organization.<\/p>\n

“I’m so thankful for my time with the Colts,” Moore said. “I can’t say that enough. They’re family. I can still call the people that I’ve experienced and grown with over the years, I’ve got a lot of humility, but I think I’ve just gone through growth. Just growing. I’m at a perfect point of my career where I really want to win.”<\/p>\n

Now Indianapolis is down a leader in the secondary. However, they still have players like cornerbacks Sauce Gardner and Charvarius Ward and safeties Cam Bynum and rookie AJ Haulcy<\/a>, who they drafted in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft.<\/p>\n
