Ojomo, a former seventh-round pick, stepped into a huge role last season when he took over as the starter when the team lost Milton Williams in free agency last offseason to the New England Patriots. During the 2025 campaign, the defensive tackle hauled in six sacks while recording 38 total tackles. He’s someone whom the Eagles can’t afford, but similar to Carter, they could wait this one out as well.

While ESPN suggests that Philadelphia should extend Ojomo rather than Carter, the Eagles are likely to bank on a new deal for the star. At the same time, it would make sense for the team to extend the former 2023 draft selection as their priority, as he’s entering the final year of his rookie contract. However, after giving Jordan Davis a new deal this offseason, it’s pretty much a toss-up between the two remaining defensive tackles. Philadelphia will soon enter a crucial next two offseasons, but with GM Howie Roseman being aggressive enough, how will this play out?

Main Photo: Bill Streicher-Imagn Images

Eagles Trade Rumors: Philly May Lose Secret 6-Sack Weapon

What to Know

Most definitely, the Eagles aren’t giving two more of their DT’s new deals. What the team could do is pay Carter before he’s pricier, but even that’s a gamble, at least for Philadelphia. They haven’t entertained any negotiations surrounding Carter, but will they treat Ojomo the same? Everyone should believe that the seventh-rounder may play the last season as an Eagle, but could they keep him as a trade chip, too?

It’s always a possibility. They were eyeing Myles Garrett before the Los Angeles Rams gave the former Defensive Player of the Year a better deal. However, there is still Maxx Crosby, who’s been connected to the Eagles endlessly this offseason in trade rumors. If the Eagles keep Carter throughout the 2026 season and give him a new contract, they will likely let Ojomo walk in free agency next offseason.

<smartframe-embed class="smartframe_wp_element" customer-id="b0c95bc04383cef69c6b47df872135cf" image-id="WmOBnlXfLAUl" style="width: 100%; display: inline-flex; max-width: 4000px; aspect-ratio: 4000/2796;" ></smartframe-embed>

Potential Next Teams

Dallas Cowboys

After trading Osa Odighizuwa to the 49ers this offseason to rebuild its pass-rush, the Dallas Cowboys will need to address the defensive tackle position. While they got some reinforcement by signing Otito Ogbonnia in free agency to a low-stakes deal, they only have Jay Toia for depth. The good news is that they still have Quinnen Williams and Kenny Clark in the same room, but Clark didn’t have the best 2025 campaign after the Cowboys acquired him from Green Bay in the Micah Parsons trade.

They will need to restructure Williams’ contract to sign Ojomo, but between these three potential starters, the Cowboys could steal the most underrated Eagles defensive asset.

Carolina Panthers

Despite the team signing Tershawn Wharton and Bobby Brown last offseason, the defensive tackle position is still a concern. Still, the Carolina Panthers are building one of the most dangerous pass-rushing units, signing Jaelan Phillips and Devin Lloyd. However, for this Carolina defense to have true success, they must rebuild their unit between Brown and Wharton. With Wharton still freshening up from injury, the Panthers getting Ojomo might be a wise depth decision if he can’t live up to his potential this 2026 season.

Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars allowed RB Travis Etienne Jr. to walk in free agency, and with the team likely to cut Arik Armstead, it could create cap space to get Ojomo. With Travon Walker and Josh Hines-Allen as two ferocious defensive ends on new deals, why not lock in the Eagles’ defensive tackle as their final long-term piece, too?

A new sudden Philadelphia front office alert has the Eagles trade rumors focused on a hidden defensive asset for next offseason.

<smartframe-embed customer-id="b0c95bc04383cef69c6b47df872135cf" image-id="WmOBatrbiVjU" style="width: 100%;max-width: 4000px;aspect-ratio: 4000/2803"></smartframe-embed>
[36,30,19,13,6431,21
550,7739,7422,7335,9554,32193,5855,9894,246,7661,7393,4776
post-288503","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-nfl-news","category-panthers","category-cowboys","category-jaguars","category-nfl-teams","category-eagles","tag-arik-armstead","tag-carolina-panthers-news","tag-dallas-cowboys-news","tag-jacksonville-jaguars-news","tag-jalen-carter","tag-lastest-nfl-news","tag-maxx-crosby","tag-moro-ojomo","tag-nfl-news","tag-panthers-featured","tag-philadelphia-eagles-news","tag-quinnen-williams
["GET
