With that, the star QB still has two years left on his deal, but since the Ravens and he are far apart on a new deal, it wouldn’t be the most shocking thing. In a previous article penned here at LWOS, the Patrick Mahomes blockbuster extension probably puts the Ravens’ contract talks in a deeper hole.

Here at LWOS and Canfora can agree on one thing: don’t count out a trade request at some point next year. While it seems like a deal could come together, what are the chances that it tops Mahomes’ latest deal? The Chiefs QB is coming off a season where he suffered a season-ending injury while still securing a new deal that exceeds Dak Prescott’s blockbuster contract. You can argue that Jackson could feel some way if he receives a deal that is much lower than Mahomes’ latest contract, especially if he puts up another MVP 2026 campaign.

Main Photo: Charles LeClaire-Imagn Images

Lamar Jackson Trade Rumors: 3 Fits for Stalled $84M Star

Let’s break down what the NFL executives have to say. They also predict that Jackson’s next deal won’t be cheap, and Mahomes’ new contract will affect them at a much greater capacity. Baltimore had their opportunity to extend their star QB, but after firing John Harbaugh, is the team preparing to rebuild in the next five years? They haven’t extended WR Zay Flowers, either, while drafting Ja’Kobi Lane, who could apparently be the successor to Rashod Bateman.

“If he’s not signed by Week 1, I don’t think he’s back (in 2027),” one longtime personnel executive said. “Something keeps holding them back… Something’s not right there.”

If the Ravens want to get a deal done, they should probably do it now. The longer they wait, the more unappreciative Jackson will feel. In 2023, he formally requested a trade, and this time, the Ravens will probably move him since Harbaugh is no longer there. Let’s have some fun here: three teams could be eyeing the MVP for the next 1-2 seasons, and they will probably put all their eggs in one basket for a Super Bowl shot.

<smartframe-embed class="smartframe_wp_element" customer-id="b0c95bc04383cef69c6b47df872135cf" image-id="WmOBMobhUf21" style="width: 100%; display: inline-flex; max-width: 5000px; aspect-ratio: 5000/3171;" ></smartframe-embed>

Possible Next Teams

Carolina Panthers

The Carolina Panthers are also in a weird spot with QB Bryce Young and the latest contract negotiations. The team picked up Young’s fifth-year option, and if he has a disappointing 2026 season, it could raise questions about his future. The Panthers still have the advantage here; they drafted a promising WR, Chris Brazzell, while securing Jalen Coker on a long-term deal. They just selected Tetairoa McMillan last offseason, who’s already exploded as the alpha of this pass offense.

It’s high-stakes right now in Carolina, especially after strengthening their edge rush group, signing Jaelan Phillips and Devin Lloyd. Young doesn’t really have an excuse here other than a depleted TE unit, but still, if he fails, don’t be surprised if they could get aggressive once again. This time, it might just be Jackson joining the Panthers.

Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons also have a questionable QB future in their offense, but they have one of the worst offensive weapons other than Drake London. Despite signing Tua Tagovailoa, between him and Michael Penix Jr., does the future look bright for Atlanta? Probably not. The team also hired Kevin Stefanski, who hasn’t been a very popular selection this offseason amongst Falcons fans.

If the Falcons, which is most likely, don’t find themselves in the postseason column the next two seasons, they should call up Jackson and put all of their marbles into a complete rebuild. They’d need to find another WR to pair with London, but they’d easily have a better offense led by the Ravens’ star QB.

Los Angeles Rams

Here’s where things could get interesting with the Los Angeles Rams. The team selected Ty Simpson in the first round of this year’s draft, but head coach Sean McVay didn’t look too pleased with the pick. As long as he’s around, after signing a new extension, the Rams should have one of the most dominant offenses for a long time. The Rams traded for CB Trent McDuffie and pass-rusher Myles Garrett, which means that if they did that in one offseason, don’t be too shocked if they try to pull off getting Jackson once Matthew Stafford retires.

Following an explosive report, the Lamar Jackson trade rumors could heat up as multiple NFL execs predict a blockbuster $84M deal.

<smartframe-embed customer-id="b0c95bc04383cef69c6b47df872135cf" image-id="WmOBcQPC5PGJ" style="width: 100%;max-width: 2048px;aspect-ratio: 2048/1152"></smartframe-embed>
[36,27,10,30,34,6431
7727,7723,9487,7739,1056,7473,404,32243,7661,7638,4443
post-287613","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-nfl-news","category-falcons","category-ravens","category-panthers","category-rams","category-nfl-teams","tag-atlanta-falcons-news","tag-baltimore-ravens-news","tag-bryce-young","tag-carolina-panthers-news","tag-lamar-jackson","tag-los-angeles-rams-news","tag-matthew-stafford","tag-michael-penix-jr","tag-panthers-featured","tag-ravens-featured","tag-tua-tagovailoa
["GET
