Brown Drama

Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts has been relatively silent on the A.J. Brown drama that has been one of the biggest offseason storylines in the NFL. Just last week, the former Eagles wide receiver was traded to the New England Patriots. Brown did not leave under the best of circumstances, and the Eagles QB commented on Brown’s departure when he addressed the media on Wednesday.

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts Discusses A.J. Brown Departure

A reporter at the press conference mentioned a report where Brown discussed his relationship with Hurts, and he stated that he wanted nothing but the best for the Eagles QB. Hurts had the following to say on the article.

“I’m not in a place to challenge anyone’s perspective on anything. Um, you know, seemingly so it was. And that’s where I am. I’ve always been focused on the collective. I’ve always put my energy towards that, and as a leader, I’ve always put an onus on giving maximum effort to achieve the shared mission we have in the team.”

That response was remarkable because it showed a disinterest from Hurts in arguing about Brown’s statement at all. The Eagles QB seemed to recognize Brown’s right to his opinion and transitioned quickly to leadership and team purposes. Most quarterbacks would probably attempt to argue or justify the relationship, but Hurts seemed more concerned with forward momentum than with revisiting the past.

That answer also showed how composed the Eagles QB is. Instead of creating more headlines for himself or trying to add gasoline to the fire, he used the moment to redirect the conversation to the overall mission and team. It appears there is no bad blood ongoing from his point of view, despite all of the lingering speculation surrounding the two men and the relationship they shared.

<smartframe-embed class="smartframe_wp_element" customer-id="b0c95bc04383cef69c6b47df872135cf" image-id="WmOBU1mzVfCg" style="width: 100%; display: inline-flex; max-width: 4918px; aspect-ratio: 4918/3712;" ></smartframe-embed>

Was the Eagles QB Disappointed in How Brown Left Philadelphia?

When he asked whether or not there was disappointment in how Brown’s tenure in Philadelphia ended, Hurts seemed unfazed by how things played out.

“You come into it, and you have a sense of pride in how it began and definitely what we were able to accomplish, you know. And the same thing that I said last time, nothing can take that away. So, for the great things that we did, now it’s time to focus on achieving great things with this new iteration of the team.”

The Eagles QB did not seem to hold any ill will over the way Brown’s tenure in Philadelphia ended. He spoke fondly of their success and of things that cannot be taken away instead of lamenting the circumstances of Brown’s exit from the team, choosing an even tone over anything remotely resentful.

Hurts was not as quick to leave the question to get to the future of Eagles football. He said that he had moved on from things and will instead use the time to establish chemistry with the existing players on the roster rather than looking to departed players. In terms of the current wide receiver situation, that is what Eagles fans want to hear out of their quarterback.

Hurts Is Focused on the Future, Not the Past

Despite repeated questions about Brown and the circumstances surrounding the offseason, Hurts never appeared interested in revisiting old issues. Instead, he consistently steered the conversation back to leadership, growth, and the team’s goals for 2026. Whether fans agree with every decision that led to Brown’s departure or not, one thing became clear during the press conference: Hurts has moved on, and his focus is squarely on leading the next version of the Eagles forward.

Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts addressed the media in a press conference today where he spoke about former Eagles wide receiver A.J.
