Jordan, a former first-round pick, remains one of the best available free agents in the league, who hasn’t garnered much interest from other teams. While it might be smart to sign anywhere else other than the Saints, he could settle to stay in New Orleans. At the same time, it’s not worth it for the defensive end to stay in a place where he knows the team is rebuilding.

It’s already been rumored that the Saints are preparing to trade RB Alvin Kamara after signing Travis Etienne to a blockbuster contract this offseason. With that, it’s looking like it could be a one-year cost-controlled contract. Earlier, the veteran confirmed he plans to play in 2026, but hasn’t said where that might be. It’s been rumored for several weeks that the Saints made an offer, and now it’s been confirmed by Moore.

No one can predict where the veteran may sign, but he wants to win a Super Bowl, so it wouldn’t make sense to return to New Orleans.

Main Photo: Brett Davis-Imagn Images

Cameron Jordan Free Agency: 15-Year Star May Sign Elsewhere

Despite the Saints wanting him to return, nobody should anticipate Jordan to be back in a New Orleans uniform. The best decision he could make is to be prepared for a temporary run to boost a team’s defense right before the postseason. He isn’t going to be in his prime anymore like Maxx Crosby or Myles Garrett, but with eight Pro Bowls, two All-Pro nods and a total of 132 sacks, there should be at least some interest from these three contenders.

<smartframe-embed class="smartframe_wp_element" customer-id="b0c95bc04383cef69c6b47df872135cf" image-id="WmOBLQaB0uxd" style="width: 100%; display: inline-flex; max-width: 6240px; aspect-ratio: 6240/3512;" ></smartframe-embed>

Possible Super Bowl Fits

New England Patriots

It’s not necessary to add another defensive end to the depth, but given the Rams’ latest moves, head coach Mike Vrabel could be aggressive here. While the Patriots were rumored to sign Crosby earlier this offseason, they could pinch pennies for Jordan, instead. As the Patriots have two high-profile edge rushers in Milton Williams and Christian Barmore, the free agent doesn’t need to be a starter anymore. He could be a legitimate rotational defender who could make plays on third down.

The team signed Dre’Mont Jones in free agency, but hasn’t added any veterans yet. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Vrabel sign a veteran, but on defense, at least to add depth. After the latest words from Vrabel about not looking to re-sign Stefon Diggs, he will probably use that energy to upgrade his defense instead.

Denver Broncos

If anyone could use a veteran boost in its defense, it’s the Denver Broncos. With Jonathon Cooper dealing with off-field issues and the loss of John Franklin-Myers, they need someone to be the new voice in that locker room. Jordan isn’t the same elite edge rusher he once was, but reuniting with head coach Sean Payton could be something he may consider. The Broncos are already rumored to sign Taysom Hill to a low-stakes deal, and the veteran defensive end may follow.

Dallas Cowboys

After trading Osa Odighizuwa and allowing Jadeveon Clowney to walk in free agency, the Dallas Cowboys could turn to a new veteran experiment. Clowney’s time in Dallas paid off massively, who led the defense in production. The same can be done from Jordan, who still has plenty left in the tank. The team signed Otito Ogbonnia to address the depth of their defensive line before the Odighizuwa trade, but there’s still a need for a defensive end.

Kenny Clark is coming off a shaky 2025 campaign, and the free agent could help him in situational moments.

New Orleans Saints head coach Kellen Moore has broke his silence on the latest Cameron Jordan free agency rumors as an offer is on the table.

<smartframe-embed customer-id="b0c95bc04383cef69c6b47df872135cf" image-id="WmOBICiRGb7u" style="width: 100%;max-width: 4894px;aspect-ratio: 4894/3263"></smartframe-embed>
[36,19,15,5,28,6431
1573,1178,7422,7305,1473,8511,32193,7394,7752,246,7659,60
post-287085","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-nfl-news","category-cowboys","category-broncos","category-patriots","category-saints","category-nfl-teams","tag-alvin-kamara","tag-cameron-jordan","tag-dallas-cowboys-news","tag-denver-broncos-news","tag-jadeveon-clowney","tag-john-franklin-myers","tag-lastest-nfl-news","tag-new-england-patriots-news","tag-new-orleans-saints-news","tag-nfl-news","tag-saints-featured","tag-stefon-diggs
["GET
