Russell Wilson’s retirement marks the end of one of the most accomplished quarterback careers<\/a> of the modern NFL era. After 14 seasons, a Super Bowl championship, ten Pro Bowl selections, and nearly 47,000 passing yards, Wilson announced Wednesday that he is stepping away from football. The longtime Seattle Seahawks star<\/a> leaves the game as one of the most productive dual-threat quarterbacks in league history, finishing his career with 353 touchdown passes and more than 5,500 rushing yards.<\/p>\n

Wilson’s Retirement Announced on Twitter\/X<\/h2>\n

In an announcement on Twitter\/X, Wilson announced his retirement and addressed many different people along the way, including former Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo coach Carroll, thanks for taking a chance on a young, 5-11 Black kid from Richmond, Virginia, that was told he was \u200btoo small to ever make it \u2060in the NFL,\u201d Wilson said. \u201cWe knew what winning was like.
