He averaged about two receptions per game. Claiborne is a speed guy who lacks size.

Minnesota Vikings Landing Spot

The Vikings have 32-year-old Aaron Jones leading the backfield this year after re-signing him to a 1-year contract to return for 2026. Jones is paired with Jordan Mason, who is also a free agent after the 2026 season. Jones and Mason split carries in the backfield last season, and neither one was that great. The Vikings are planning on having Jones and Mason be the 1A and the 1B once again in 2026.

However, we have seen Jones struggle with injuries in the past, and he is 32 years old, so the injury risk is still high. He was outside of the top 100 running backs before the NFL Draft, so dynasty managers are happy with his landing spot. He is ranked right behind James Conner, Isaiah Davis, and Najee Harris, while ranked ahead of Tahj Brooks, Will Shipley, and Jarquez Hunter. Claiborne has more upside than any of these players, so expect his price to continue to rise over the summer.

Claiborne Rookie Dynasty Drafts

In rookie dynasty drafts, Claiborne is being drafted in the third or fourth round. Once you get to the later rounds of rookie drafts, players have a much larger range of where they are drafted. I would take running backs such as Nicholas Singleton, Jonah Coleman, and Kaytron Allen over Claiborne, but would prefer Claiborne to 49ers running back Kaelon Black and Raiders running back Mike Washington Jr.

Rookie Dynasty Mock Draft and Top 50 Rankings

What is the Demond Claiborne Dynasty Outlook?

Claiborne is one of my favorite late-round rookie picks in dynasty drafts. He has a clear path to playing time in the near future, with two running backs on the Vikings who will be free agents after the 2026 season. He could also see a significant workload in 2026 due to the injury concerns with Jones and the fact that neither Jones nor Mason was that great last season. The Vikings do not have their RB1 of the future yet, so Claiborne has a chance to win that job.

Read More Rookie Dynasty Outlooks Including Eli Stowers and Carson Beck

I would be looking to target Claiborne as early as the first few picks in the 3rd round of dynasty rookie drafts. Late-round running backs tend to have more upside than wide receivers, and Claiborne fits that bill. At this point in the draft, dynasty managers are just taking shots on players, but Claiborne is a great player to take a chance on. The Demond Claiborne dynasty outlook is very encouraging for a late-round running back.

Main Photo: [Melina Myers] – Imagn Images

Demond Claiborne was the 17th pick of the 6th round in the 2026 NFL Draft, where the Vikings selected him.
