The AJ Brown trade rumors are not going anywhere as the superstar receiver is now linked to the Kansas City Chiefs right before the post-June 1 designation. It’s an exciting time for NFL teams with mandatory minicamps around the corner, but there are still trades that could happen. To no surprise, it’s easy to see why Brown is a target for the Chiefs, given the uncertainty surrounding Rashee Rice<\/a> and his future with the team. While they could target several free agents, including Stefon Diggs<\/a>, Deebo Samuel or Keenan Allen, the Chiefs could reel in the bigger fish in the pond.<\/p>\n

According to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer<\/a>, he broke down the idea of the Chiefs possibly pursuing Brown in a trade next month. With Rice recovering from a knee procedure while serving his 30-day sentence, it would be sensible to bring in a high-stakes receiver like the Eagles’ wideout. Even if Rice is on time for the season-opener, there’s no guarantee that he will be 100%. It’s reasonable that Breer predicted this potential blockbuster:<\/p>\n

“They said no to the Eagles in the first place. But I think if you’re the Chiefs, you have to look at all these things going forward because Rashee Rice clearly looks like somebody that you have not been able to rely on,” said Breer on The Breer Report.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

AJ Brown Trade Rumors: NFL Insider Links Chiefs to WR Amid Rashee Rice Chaos<\/h2>\n

A few offseasons ago, the Chiefs were interested in Brown. According to him, Kansas City attempted to pursue him during the 2022 offseason when they traded Tyreek Hill<\/a>. However, the Chiefs would win the Super Bowl led by Patrick Mahomes. The Eagles got their revenge last year in a Super Bowl rematch, so a trade between these teams might not even happen given their history.<\/p>\n

It’s still possible that the Chiefs could make the trade happen. The Eagles won’t need another receiver, especially after trading for Dontayvion Wicks<\/a> and selecting Makai Lemon<\/a> with the first-round pick of this year’s draft. If they’re looking for something that would convince them to send Brown to Kansas City, it would have to be extra draft picks. Here are two likely destinations that make sense if the Chiefs can’t reel in the Eagles receiver this offseason.<\/p>\n

Two Likely Suitors<\/h2>\n

Los Angeles Rams<\/h3>\n

Earlier this offseason, the Los Angeles Rams and Eagles were close to a blockbuster deal<\/a> that would have sent Davante Adams<\/a> to Philadelphia while Brown leaves for LA. It’s been rumored that the two teams could revisit those talks before the 2026 season. The Rams were reportedly closer to getting the Eagles receiver than the Patriots. It would’ve been a steal for the Rams, especially with Adams being much on the older side.<\/p>\n

After trading for Trent McDuffie<\/a> and signing Jaylen Watson to strengthen the secondary room, one thing to note is that the team is not afraid of being aggressive. Adams leaving, at the same time, wouldn’t have made sense anyway. Unless the Rams could reel in Brown while keeping Adams for the 2026 campaign, that would be the difference-maker for QB Matthew Stafford. Los Angeles needs a WR3, and while Brown or Adams are not on that level, given their latest signs of not slowing down, the Rams could look at other options.<\/p>\n

Los Angeles Chargers<\/h3>\n

Meanwhile, this might be the most sensible destination for the Eagles’ trade candidate. The Chargers haven’t re-signed Keenan Allen or added at least a veteran receiver to help Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston<\/a>. This offensive pass game for Justin Herbert is probably one of the worst. Despite the team selecting Brenen Thompson<\/a>, this doesn’t strengthen their chances for a deeper run in the postseason.<\/p>\n
