It’s pretty much a lock that the Patriots will acquire AJ Brown in a trade, but other reports believe nothing is guaranteed until it happens. It allows several teams in the league to perhaps make a bigger offer than the Patriots. Unless New England is open to trading Kayshon Boutte<\/a>, it could become difficult for the final trade confirmation.<\/p>\n

According to a source<\/a>, Brown could be heading elsewhere if the Patriots’ deal falls apart. A great example of that has been the latest deal between the Ravens and the Raiders regarding Maxx Crosby<\/a>. However, it’s not like Brown is coming from any injury, but things can always change. You have to say “never say never” in the NFL, and if Brown wants to test the trade market first next month, he could do that.<\/p>\n

As of this posting, there isn’t any binding between the Patriots and Eagles. What this means is that if a team wants to swoop in and take Brown from the Eagles before the Patriots, it could happen that way.<\/p>\n

New England still has Mack Hollins and Boutte in the slot, so if the Patriots would rather sign a veteran at that, it might be wiser for them. Tetairoa McMillan and Coker are two legitimate weapons for QB Bryce Young, but they need an established veteran. This is why Brown makes sense.<\/p>\n
