The Rams already have a Super Bowl roster, but after spending their first-round pick on Ty Simpson, they did not add any significant talent. While they added a few players at the skill positions in the draft, their best pick was made with the future in mind.

Filled with some of the league’s best players, the Rams could win the Super Bowl with their current roster. General manager Les Snead said the Rams were going to use free agency to avoid being desperate in the draft, but adding another star could separate them from their competition. As Super Bowl favorites, the Rams should do everything possible to position themselves to raise the Lombardi trophy.

Even though free agency is over, they can still acquire star players from other teams. There are still several players who may be available for trade. The Rams have already been linked to trade rumors this offseason and still have opportunities to improve the team. Snead is no stranger to making key trades. This offseason, the Rams traded for Trent McDuffie at the beginning of free agency. Can he make one more big splash before the season begins?

Is a Rams Blockbuster Trade Needed for the Team to Win a Super Bowl?

AJ Brown Rumors

<smartframe-embed class="smartframe_wp_element" customer-id="b0c95bc04383cef69c6b47df872135cf" image-id="WmOBgQMkWSlF" style="width: 100%; display: inline-flex; max-width: 4000px; aspect-ratio: 4000/2721;" ></smartframe-embed>

Many expected the Rams to draft Makai Lemon with the 13th overall pick, but they instead chose to select Ty Simpson. The Eagles drafted Lemon at 20, while the Rams drafted just one receiver – CJ Daniels in the sixth round.

One player who could still be traded is AJ Brown. The Philadelphia wide receiver could still be traded because of his post-June 1 cap hit. After June 1, Brown’s cap hit becomes significantly less for the Eagles, and would save them money in any trade.

A Brown-to-LA deal would certainly be a Rams blockbuster trade. Brown is an extraordinary receiver with amazing talent. Standing at 6-foot-1, 226 pounds, Brown is built like a tank. He can catch anything in his vicinity and has the skill to change a game in seconds.

Brown has proven himself to be a great No. 1 option in Philadelphia though he often complains about not getting the ball. Even with a Super Bowl ring, Brown wants more opportunities to showcase his game. His increased frustration highlights his unhappiness and has become noteworthy. After a disappointing season, several teams including the Rams have been mentioned in trade rumors involving Brown.

If he were traded to the Rams, Brown’s cry for more passes would immediately be solved. His pairing with Matthew Stafford and Puka Nacua would allow him to thrive in a pass-first offense. Head coach Sean McVay’s system would feature his skill and talent and create an unstoppable duel with Nacua.

The move makes sense if the Rams decide they want to go all-in and spend more future picks on star players. Brown’s presence could also extend Stafford’s career if the Rams win another Super Bowl. The Rams engaged in trade talks with the Eagles earlier in the offseason but the trade never worked out.

Snead spoke on the failed trade talks with the Eagles.

“We chatted with Philly, nothing worked out,” Snead said on PFT Live. “There were talks, we had discussions, didn’t work out. That happens.”

Even though the trade wasn’t completed, it could be revisited. The post-June 1 cap hit could lead teams to reevaluate their roster and revisit trade talks for Brown. Since there is familiarity between the two teams, a Brown-to-the Rams blockbuster trade may still be possible.

Main Image: Kirby Lee-Imagn Images

A Los Angeles Rams blockbuster trade could help the team win it all in 2026, but is it necessary?
