Ty Simpson was the 13th overall pick in the <\/span>2026 NFL Draft<\/span><\/a>\u00a0when the Los Angeles Rams<\/a> shockingly selected him. There were some rumors that Simpson might go towards the end of the 1st Round, but no one thought he would be drafted inside the top 15. College Production<\/b><\/h3>\n

Simpson spent<\/span> four seasons at Alabama<\/span><\/a>, but only one season as the starter. In his final season, he started in all 15 games<\/a> for the Crimson Tide, having a 64.5% completion percentage, 3567 passing yards, 28 touchdown passes, and just 5 interceptions. He did not have many starts, but the Rams view him as the future once Stafford retires.<\/span><\/p>\n

Simpson was not going to be ready to start Week 1 for any NFL Team due to his lack of college experience. He was always seen as a project, who would have to sit behind someone for at least a year or two before getting the chance to start. The Rams could not have been a better landing spot for Simpson. He gets to learn behind one of the best offensive-minded head coaches in the game, Sean McVay, and from the reigning NFL MVP, Stafford. This situation is getting a lot of comparisons to Jordan Love sitting behind Aaron Rodgers for a few years, and that could definitely be the case.<\/span><\/p>\n
