The Lamar Jackson Situation<\/h3>\n

The biggest critical piece is the health and financial well-being of quarterback Lamar Jackson.<\/a> The Pro Bowl quarterback played in only 13 games due to numerous injuries. He battled a trio of lower body issues including knee, ankle, and toe problems.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A post by the NFL on DAZN via Instagram<\/a> noted how little he used his legs over the course of the season. According to the post, Jackson was 13th in the NFL in rushing yards per game for quarterbacks at (26.9), the lowest of his career.<\/span><\/p>\n

Financially is another story for Lamar Jackson. The front office went all-in by restructuring his contract. They cut his 2026 cap hit from $74.5 million to $34.4 million to create opportunities to spend on other players.<\/span><\/p>\n

This move signals a \u2018win now\u2019 mentality. They have maxed out their flexibility to keep the championship window open for 2026. The Ravens lost a ton of players on their roster this past offseason. Some of the names that are now gone are Pro Bowl center Tyler Linderbaum<\/a> and tight end Isaiah Likely.<\/a> But more importantly, the roster is getting older.<\/span><\/p>\n

Running back Derrick Henry<\/a> and tight end Mark Andrews<\/a> are still valuable pieces to the team, but they are nearing the back half of their careers and many journalists are wondering if they can still produce at a high level.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The team had inconsistencies\u00a0 at the wide receiver position and wideout Zay Flowers<\/a> needed help. The Ravens possess the 14th overall pick in the draft and a pass-catcher seems like the way to go. Despite the inconsistencies the Ravens had last year, they still opened the spring as one of the favorites to reach the Super Bowl.
