The season looked promising with the return of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/A\/AlleKe00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Keenan Allen<\/a><\/strong> and a deep running game with both <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/G\/GordMe00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Melvin Gordon<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/W\/WoodDa02.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Danny Woodhead<\/a><\/strong>. But the season ended with multiple injuries on both sides of the ball and a disappointing 5-11 record.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The off-season brought about some changes, most notably the team being moved to Los Angeles. They also hired <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/L\/LynnAn00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Anthony Lynn<\/a><\/strong> as the new head coach.\u00a0\u00a0This article provides a look at the wide receivers for the Los Angeles Chargers, and the fantasy expectations.<\/p>\n<h2>Los Angeles Chargers Receivers Fantasy Outlook<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The wide receiver line-up is as loaded as the Chargers have ever seen it. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/R\/RivePh00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Philip Rivers<\/a><\/strong> loves to throw the ball, and he does it well. With the emergence of a solid run game\u00a0after Melvin Gordon\u2019s 2016 season, the Chargers look poised to capitalize on a weapon-heavy offense.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Wide Receivers<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h4><b>Keenan Allen<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/A\/AlleKe00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Keenan Allen<\/strong> <\/a>is a talented receiver and he had an electric run at the start of 2015, catching 67 passes in only eight games before a lacerated kidney ended his season. In 2016 he tore his ACL\u00a0which ended\u00a0his season.\u00a0Allen has missed 23 games in the last two years. His upside, if healthy, is obvious. Allen can put up numbers and he\u00a0has averaged 8.5 targets per game. This translates to him having appeal in standard and PPR formats. KA13 is a high-risk-high-reward draft option for fantasy purposes.\u00a0Allen&#8217;s current ADP is 4.01.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><strong>Tyrell Williams<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/W\/WillTy00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tyrell Williams<\/a><\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">had a break-out season in 2016, leading the team in receptions and yards and finishing\u00a0second on the team in touchdown receptions. He\u2019s a big play threat\u00a0and he ended 2016 with six catches of at least 40 yards.\u00a0Williams&#8217; current ADP is 9.04, which puts him in the value section of drafts. He\u2019s a WR2 with upside for fantasy play, DFS, and best-ball leagues.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><strong>Travis Benjamin<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/B\/BenjTr00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Travis Benjamin<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> <em>also<\/em> caught six passes of at least 40 yards\u00a0in 2016. Benjamin is lightning fast and he has the ability to turn a short pass into a big play. He battled nagging injuries throughout the 2016 season, but appears to be healthy thus far into the preseason. Benjamin does have some injury risk\u00a0and he can be\u00a0inconsistent. He ended the 2016 season with 677 yards and\u00a0four touchdowns. Look for him in deeper leagues and the occasional bye-week flier. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><strong>Dontrelle Inman<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/I\/InmaDo00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dontrelle Inman<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> became a reliable weapon for Rivers in 2016.\u00a0Inman started all 16 games and finished with 58 receptions for 810 yards and\u00a0four touchdowns, all of which are career highs. While it&#8217;s hard to predict anything other than a regression with\u00a0a healthy line-up of receivers, he&#8217;s still be someone worth\u00a0keeping an eye on\u00a0should injuries occur.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><strong>Mike Williams<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With the\u00a0seventh overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft\u00a0the Chargers selected <b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=WillMi23,WillMi22,WillMi04,WillMi03,WillMi00,WillMi02,WillMi21&amp;search=Mike+Williams&amp;utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mike Williams<\/a><\/b>.\u00a0At 6-4 and 217 pounds Williams is a beast. He\u2019s a redzone, jump-ball type of target that should thrive in the Charges\u00a0offense, provided he\u2019s healthy enough to take the field.\u00a0The former Clemson standout\u00a0has been struggling with back issues during the off-season. He\u2019s also an excellent run blocker, which will\u00a0help a thriving\u00a0ground game. Williams could potentially put up big fantasy numbers, but, through the preseason, monitor his health prior to pulling the trigger on draft day.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Tight Ends<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It&#8217;s almost impossible to alk about the talented pass catchers in LA without mentioning both <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/G\/GateAn00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Antonio Gates<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/H\/HenrHu00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Hunter Henry<\/a><\/strong>. At the tight end position, both Gates and Henry excel at pass catching and ended 2016 with\u00a0seven and\u00a0eight touchdowns respectively. Gates is one touchdown away from holding the record for the most by a tight-end, so look for River&#8217;s and company to go to\u00a0him early on.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This wide receiver group is stacked for the upcoming 2017 season. There has been speculation about useage with so many available weapons. But Philip Rivers isn&#8217;t afraid to\u00a0throw the football. He\u2019s had 578, 661, and 570 passing attempts over the last three seasons.
