It will be Snead\u2019s first time coaching in the NFL, and he is another coach on the Broncos staff with a connection to <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2023\/10\/18\/sean-paytons-hidden-agenda-denver-broncos\/\" target=\"_self\">Sean Payton<\/a>. Here\u2019s more information on Snead\u2019s background before he joined Denver\u2019s coaching staff.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Broncos Hire Willie Snead IV As Offensive Quality Control Coach<\/h2>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"max-width: px\"><smartframe-embed class=\"smartframe_wp_element\" customer-id=\"b0c95bc04383cef69c6b47df872135cf\" image-id=\"WmOBWMBq3kjb\" style=\"width: 100%; display: inline-flex; max-width: 3000px; aspect-ratio: 3000\/2229;\" ><\/smartframe-embed><\/p>\n<h3><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">New Orleans Saints (2014-2017)<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Snead, who is originally from Winter Park, Florida, played college football at Ball State from 2011 to 2013. At Ball State, Snead earned finalist honors for the Biletnikoff Award in 2013, while he ranks second in Ball State history for receiving yards and receiving touchdowns.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In 2014, Snead went undrafted but signed with the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/browns\/\" target=\"_self\">Cleveland Browns<\/a>, who waived him during final roster cuts. He later signed with the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/panthers\/\" target=\"_self\">Carolina Panthers<\/a>, only to be part of their practice squad and eventually released.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Snead&#8217;s breakthrough opportunity came after he joined the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/saints\/\" target=\"_self\">New Orleans Saints<\/a> practice squad in December of 2014. In three seasons playing for the Saints under Payton, Snead caught 149 receptions for 1,971 yards and seven receiving touchdowns.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Baltimore Ravens (2018-2020)<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The following season, Snead signed a two-year, $7 million contract with the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/ravens\/\" target=\"_self\">Baltimore Ravens<\/a> as a result of the Saints failing to match the contract the Ravens offered Snead. Like in New Orleans, Snead\u2019s stint in Baltimore was also three seasons.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Even though<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> he didn&#8217;t match the production he had with the Saints, Snead caught 126 receptions, 1,422 yards, and even scored nine touchdowns as a Raven, which was more than he scored when he was a Saint.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Las Vegas Raiders \/ Carolina Panthers (2021)<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Following the 2020 NFL season, Snead signed a one-year contract worth $1.1 million with the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/raiders\/\" target=\"_self\">Las Vegas Raiders<\/a> in late March of 2021. Snead didn\u2019t last the entire season with the Raiders, as the team released him in October.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Las Vegas is also the last team Snead recorded a reception for in his NFL career, while he caught three receptions for 33 yards in the five short games he played with the Raiders.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The day after his release from the Raiders, the Panthers called Snead to join their practice squad. Snead played in nine games with the Panthers during his second stint with the team.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">San Francisco 49ers (2022-2023)<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In August of 2022, Snead signed with the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/49ers\/\" target=\"_self\">San Francisco 49ers<\/a> but never secured a secure roster spot, as the team signed and released him multiple times during the 2022 and 2023 seasons.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Miami Dolphins (2024)<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0The last NFL team Snead signed with was the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/dolphins\/\" target=\"_self\">Miami Dolphins<\/a>, but the stint lasted less than 20 days; the team placed him on injured reserve and later released him.
