Life After the Washington Commanders

When Dan Snyder finally sold the Washington Commanders in July of 2023 to fans of the franchise, it was the end of a dismal era.

Snyder sold the Commanders franchise to Josh Harris and his ownership group for $6.05 billion, a new franchise sale record. Snyder left Washington with a lot more money than he walked in with.

So where is he now?

A Move Across the Pond

Shortly after the sale of the Commanders, Snyder and his family relocated to London, England.

While it might seem like a random choice, it was not. Snyder spent a considerable amount of time as a child in London. His plan, once selling the franchise, was to embrace a quieter life, and London was the right place to do it. Since selling the Commanders, he has had nothing to do with the NFL and has been scarcely seen in public,

Snyder then began selling off or donating numerous U.S. properties, including one that was donated to the American Cancer Society in Potomac, MD.

For someone who operated very openly in public, Snyder has transitioned to a quiet lifestyle.

Business as Usual

While Snyder may no longer be at the forefront of the Commanders or dominating local DC headlines, he is still very much in business.

According to reports out of London, Snyder has established an investment entity overseas. There was even speculation about him being interested in acquiring stakes in an English Premier League team, but there has been no public confirmation of that to date.

Additional reports have indicated that he has expressed an interest in investing in media and film financing ventures since leaving the NFL.

Watching From Afar

This is the part that will probably make Washington Commanders fans smile.

Since the change in ownership, Washington has had a huge first season under rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels. The franchise made its first NFC Championship in 2024 since 1991, something Snyder was never able to do in his twenty-five years of ownership. The culture has improved, and the front office is in a better place than it has ever been before. Despite an injury-laden 2025, optimism still stays strong among Commanders fans that the franchise has turned a corner and is heading in the right direction.

There have been numerous reports that have suggested Snyder has struggled with watching Washington’s newfound success. One outlet quoted a source close to him saying he “hates” seeing the franchise progress in the right direction without him. One report even said that he “f—ing hates it.”

A Quiet Exit

For a quarter of a century, Snyder was synonymous with Washington football. During his time as owner of the Washington franchise, the fanbase resented him. He was often viewed as a micromanager with no experience, operating as if he were the General Manager or Head Coach despite having people in those roles. Very few coaches who left Washington during his era had positive things to say about ownership.

Today, he is largely operating outside of the NFL world, living overseas, and watching from afar.

Could he potentially return to professional sports ownership? Potentially. Soccer seems like the most logical path, but only time will tell.

Whether that chapter stays closed permanently is unknown. But for now, Dan Snyder is no longer at the center of the NFL conversation, and Commanders fans could not be happier.

And for Washington fans, that alone represents a momentous change. A change they thought they would never see,

Reportedly living a quiet life away from the NF overseas, Commanders fans want to know: Where is Dan Snyder today?

[8896
34238,32192,20479
post-267316","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-washington-commanders","tag-dan-snyder","tag-jayden-daniels","tag-josh-harris
["GET
