With the Combine in full swing, let’s take a look at one of the directions the Dolphins could go in the draft in April. They have needs all over the field, but getting the cornerstones in place for the future has to be the top priority.

Miami Dolphins 2026 Mock Draft

Pick 1.11 – Jermod McCoy, CB, Tennessee

McCoy’s scouting report highlights why he’s an easy pick in the first round. He’s an incredible athlete, and if he wasn’t recovering from an ACL tear in 2025, there’s a world where he wouldn’t even be available at 11. The backend of the Dolphins defense needs a facelift, and McCoy, at his best, is a complete eraser for one side of the field. At his worst, he’s a turnover-chasing athlete who can match speed with almost any NFL receiver.

Pick 2.43 – Blake Miller, OT, Clemson

Miller is a toolsy tackle prospect, which is rare for players on day two. Sometimes on tape, he can explode and dominate a defender in the run game. Other times he overextends himself and can miss defenders rotating on twists or stunts. There’s a world where Miller is a franchise-changing offensive lineman who can set the tone, but there’s also a world where he’s only a depth piece for the team long term. Taking a swing on upside here is the right play for the Dolphins at this stage of their rebuild.

Pick 3.75 – Malachi Fields, WR, Notre Dame

All things considered, Fields is a great complement to what Jaylen Waddle does on the outside. Quinn Ewers is the current plan at quarterback before free agency opens up, and the receivers around him won’t do him any favors without an upgrade. As the NFL moves towards more 12- and 13-personnel formations, the Dolphins can utilize Fields as a pseudo-tight end with a nasty streak as a run blocker. Fields brings size, contested catch abilities, and another vertical option to stress defenses while airing it out. He was a key riser after the Senior Bowl.

Pick 3.87 – Garrett Nussmeier, QB, Louisiana State University

Maybe Ewers shouldn’t be the only option for the team in 2026. Nussmeier is the son of a coach with enough arm zip to compete for the starting spot in a weird year for the Dolphins. Heading into 2025, there was buzz that Nussmeier could be a first-round pick. It should be noted that the season was lost due to injuries and a mid-season coaching change, and the version of Nussmeier that can be a franchise quarterback is still in there somewhere.

Pick 3.90 – Keylan Rutledge, OG, Georgia Tech

If Ewers or Nussmeier is the plan, they need help up front. If they’re not, the Dolphins still need work to provide a soft landing spot for a quarterback in the 2027 class. Rutledge is a “dream prospect” for a couple of other teams, but if the Dolphins have a chance to add a guard with a nose for violence on the interior of their line this late, they should jump on it.

Main Photo Credit: Stephanie Amador / The Tennessean / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images

This Miami Dolphins mock draft addresses key areas of need while upgrading on both sides of the ball to set the team up for the future.

[33761,4,1647,6431
33533,34130,33029,33706,34077,7780
post-267147","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-mock-drafts","category-dolphins","category-nfl-draft","category-nfl-teams","tag-2026-nfl-draft","tag-2026-nfl-mock-draft","tag-blake-miller","tag-jermod-mccoy","tag-malachi-fields","tag-miami-dolphins-draft
["GET
