Originally joining the team as an undrafted free agent, the Shepherd product spent most of the past three seasons as Chicago’s primary backup quarterback, although he made four starts as a rookie. During his time on the field, Bagent went 2-2 while completing 65.7% of his passes for 859 yards, three touchdowns, and six interceptions. He hasn’t made a start in the past two seasons, but he has played well in the preseason and is widely considered to be one of the league’s better backup quarterbacks.

Chances are, any team looking to trade for Tyson Bagent isn’t doing it with the belief that he’ll be a can’t-miss franchise quarterback. While he does the little things right, he lacks elite physical traits and will probably peak as a low-end starter or bridge quarterback. Players like this belong in the NFL, but it’s hard to envision anyone giving up a significant draft pick for him. In all likelihood, Bagent is somebody’s Plan B or C, and he might have the opportunity to fight for a starting job somewhere if the Bears trade the quarterback.

Main Photo: Brad Rempel – Imagn Images

Several teams could make a move at quarterback in the coming weeks, and a new quarterback is reportedly available for the right price.

[36,23,6431
7403,32042
post-267085","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-nfl-news","category-bears","category-nfl-teams","tag-chicago-bears-news","tag-tyson-bagent
["GET
