Ahead of the 2026 season, Oweh and the Washington Commanders have come to terms on a four-year, $100 million contract. Oweh was initially a member of the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/ravens\/\" target=\"_self\">Baltimore Ravens<\/a> and was with the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/chargers\/\" target=\"_self\">Los Angeles Chargers<\/a> last year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"max-width: px\"><smartframe-embed class=\"smartframe_wp_element\" customer-id=\"b0c95bc04383cef69c6b47df872135cf\" image-id=\"WmOBmgh1u35W\" style=\"width: 100%; display: inline-flex; max-width: 3338px; aspect-ratio: 3338\/2503;\" ><\/smartframe-embed><\/p>\n<h2>Odafe Oweh, Commanders, Agree to Contract<\/h2>\n<p>Oweh was a two-year starter at Penn State and amassed 13.5 tackles for loss and seven sacks over his three seasons on campus. Despite not being uber-productive, he <a  href=\"https:\/\/ras.football\/ras-information\/?PlayerID=18983\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">tested at an elite level<\/a>, allowing the Ravens to select him with the 31st overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.<\/p>\n<p>As a rookie, Oweh appeared in 15 games with two starts. Across 15 games, he played 615 defensive snaps and amassed 33 total tackles, five tackles for loss, five sacks, one pass breakup, three forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries. In his second season, Oweh totaled 43 tackles, seven tackles for loss, three sacks, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery over 634 defensive snaps in 17 games (six starts).<\/p>\n<p>In 2023, he was hampered by injury. He appeared in 13 games with five starts and was on the field for 437 snaps. In that time, he amassed just 23 tackles, four tackles for loss, five sacks, and two forced fumbles.<\/p>\n<p>Oweh&#8217;s breakout was in 2024, proving that the Ravens&#8217; decision to pick up his fifth-year option was the right one. In 17 games, Oweh made 10 starts and contributed 39 total tackles, nine tackles for loss, 10 sacks, and one forced fumble on 636 snaps.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, Oweh began the season with the Ravens, but was traded after five games to the Chargers. Baltimore sent Oweh and a 2027 seventh-round pick to Los Angeles for a 2026 fifth-round pick and safety Alohi Gilman. In his 12 regular-season games in LA, Oweh amassed 28 tackles, eight tackles for loss, and 7.5 sacks.<\/p>\n<p>The last time we saw him, Oweh stood out with four tackles, three tackles for loss, three sacks, and three quarterback hits in the AFC Wild Card loss to the New England Patriots.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Odafe Oweh was last seen with a monster three-sack performance in the playoffs.
