The Indiana quarterback is expected to go No. 1 to the Las Vegas Raiders. However, they were blown out 30-6 by the Houston Texans in the Wild Card round of the playoffs.

Aaron Rodgers was Pittsburgh‘s starting quarterback. It remains to be seen whether he stays with the team. At 42 years old, Rodgers obviously isn’t the superstar he used to be. The Steelers quarterback room needs to get younger.

With that said, the Steelers should consider drafting Drew Allar. He has very good size (6-foot-5 and 235 pounds) and arm strength. He also has a high football IQ and good pocket mobility.

The Steelers selected Will Howard in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Allar could compete with him to back up Rodgers (if he returns). Then later on, he could possibly emerge as Pittsburgh’s starter.

No, Allar doesn’t have the potential of a Fernando Mendoza. But he could still develop into a quality signal-caller.

Main Image: Matthew O’Haren-Imagn Images

In a Pittsburgh Steelers mock draft, the team selects Penn State quarterback Drew Allar in the third round.

[6431,9
275,33586,7366,33176
post-265717","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-nfl-teams","category-steelers","tag-aaron-rodgers","tag-drew-allar","tag-pittsburgh-steelers-news","tag-will-howard
["GET
