Obviously, Sonny Styles is going to go a little earlier than his brother, but what is it that NFL teams are seeing in Lorenzo Styles Jr.? He broke out as the nickel corner for Ohio State’s best-in-the-nation defense and took the NFL Scouting Combine by storm with a ridiculous 40 time.

More 2026 NFL Draft Profiles

2026 NFL Draft Scouting Report: Lorenzo Styles Jr.

<smartframe-embed class="smartframe_wp_element" customer-id="b0c95bc04383cef69c6b47df872135cf" image-id="WmOBdbvlSzOu" style="width: 100%; display: inline-flex; max-width: 3306px; aspect-ratio: 3306/2204;" ></smartframe-embed>

Measurables

Height: 6′ 0.5″
Weight: 194 pounds
Arms: 31.63″
Hands: 9.5″
40-yard: 4.27
Vertical: 39″
Broad jump: TBD
RAS: 9.99
School: Ohio State

Lorenzo Styles Jr. NFL Draft Overview

Coming out of Pickerington Central High School in central Ohio, Styles was a four-star wide receiver and was considered a top-20 athlete at the position. Despite being just up the road and the son and namesake of a two-time first-team All-Big Ten linebacker and third-round draft pick from Ohio State, Lorenzo Styles Sr., Lorenzo Jr. spurned the Buckeyes and committed to Notre Dame.

He was actually pretty successful for the Irish. As a true freshman, Styles amassed 344 yards and one touchdown on 24 receptions. He appeared in all 13 games for Notre Dame and earned his first 100-yard game and touchdown in the Fiesta Bowl loss to Oklahoma State. It was more of the same as a sophomore in 2022. Styles started eight games at receiver and appeared in five other games. His first reception of the year came on the first pass of the first game of the year…against Ohio State (54 yards). In total, he added 340 yards and one touchdown on 30 catches.

Then, he transferred to Ohio State to play alongside his brother on the defensive side of the ball. In his first season with the Buckeyes in 2023, he only appeared in five games, totaling just three defensive snaps. During the national championship run, he was featured in the rotation a bit more, appearing in all 16 games. In that time, he amassed 16 tackles and four pass breakups.

Last year, he took over as the third corner. Despite battling a few nagging injuries, he appeared in 12 games and added 30 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and three interceptions. On top of that, Styles returned a kickoff for a touchdown, marking the first time an Ohio State player has done so since 2010.

Strengths

Incredible athlete, overall

Son of Lorenzo Styles Sr., older brother of Sonny Styles

Showed improvement in 2025, was not a liability on defense

Can be a reliable returner in the NFL

If he hauls in an interception, he can house it from anywhere

Plays corner/safety like a receiver and has the hands to back it up

Weaknesses

Still sort of figuring out the position after switching

Diagnosing concepts needs work

Needs to turn his head on downfield throws

Open-field tackling leaves much to be desired

Projection: Seventh Round
Best Fits: New England Patriots, Cleveland Browns, Chicago Bears, New York Giants, Pittsburgh Steelers

Bottom Line on Lorenzo Styles Jr.

Late-round picks are often all about upside and improving depth. Styles provides both for any NFL team. He played as the nickel/slot corner for Ohio State, but his skills could translate to a deep safety if need be. Either way, his ability to return kicks would be his best ticket to a roster spot early on as he continues to develop as a defender.

Styles is an intriguing, high-upside prospect due to his athletic profile. 4.27 players do not grow on trees, so a team will likely do what it can to utilize that speed in some way. He may not end up as a superstar, but he could be one of those bottom-of-the-roster guys a team can count on to make a play or two throughout the season.

One of the most athletic players in this year’s class, Lorenzo Styles Jr. is an intriguing prospect for any NFL team late on Day 3.

<smartframe-embed customer-id="b0c95bc04383cef69c6b47df872135cf" image-id="WmOBrehDGC4E" style="width: 100%;max-width: 4785px;aspect-ratio: 4785/3190"></smartframe-embed>
[1647,33760
33533,34248
post-265350","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-nfl-draft","category-profiles","tag-2026-nfl-draft","tag-lorenzo-styles-jr
["GET
