The 2025 NFL season may be over, but anyone who’s paid attention to football for even one season knows that the offseason carries plenty of excitement with trades, free agency, and the NFL Draft<\/a>. All 32 teams believe they’re one good offseason away from competing, as evidenced by the New England Patriots going from 4-13 in 2024 to AFC champions in 2025. While every offseason comes with its own narratives and surprise moves, ESPN’s Adam Schefter expects this one to be notably wild.<\/p>\n

During a recent episode of his podcast<\/a>, the NFL insider made his case for why he believes multiple massive trades will go down in the coming months.<\/p>\n

“So we got a free agent class that’s not real deep. We’ve got a draft that is not considered real deep,” Schefter said. “And you know what that tells me? It tells me we may get more wheeling and dealing in trades than we’ve had in recent year. I don’t know that it’ll happen, but it certainly seems to be a trend in recent years. Teams have been more apt and open to make big trades. We saw it at the trade deadline each of the last few years, especially this past year. Teams are unafraid about making a big deal.”<\/p>\n

NFL Insider Adam Schefter Expects Multiple Big Offseason Trades<\/h2>\n

Frankly, it’s hard to argue with Schefter’s logic. Teams are far more aggressive than they used to be, and everyone is looking for the game-changing playmaker that can take the roster to the next level. Seeing as those players are few and far between in free agency and the draft, it only makes sense that the trade market would heat up.<\/p>\n

Looking around the league, Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown<\/a> and Las Vegas Raiders edge defender Maxx Crosby<\/a> stand out as the most likely trade targets. Both players have openly voiced their frustrations with their respective organizations at various points in the past few seasons, and both players should fetch a good return on the trade block.<\/p>\n
