Mandatory Credit: Mitch Stringer-Imagn Images

Christian Gonzalez, Drake Maye, Represent Patriots On Pro Bowl Roster

Drake Maye

This is the second Pro Bowl selection of Drake Maye’s career, but it almost certainly won’t be his last. Selected with the third-overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the UNC product began his career on the bench but quickly took over starting duties. Following a promising rookie season in a disastrous environment, Maye made the Pro Bowl as an alternate last year.

While he flashed promise as a rookie, the quarterback has taken his game to another level in 2025. Starting in all 15 games, Maye has led the Patriots to a 12-3 record while completing a league-best 70.9% of his passes for 3,947 yards, 25 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. He’s thick of the MVP race and is well deserving of representing the Patriots in the Pro Bowl.

Christian Gonzalez

Astonishingly, this is the first time Christian Gonzalez has made a Pro Bowl. Selected in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft, Gonzalez looked like a star right away but suffered an injury just four games into his rookie season. He returned to the field in 2024 and was one of the few bright spots on an otherwise disastrous Patriots team. While he started the year injured, Gonzalez has played like his old self throughout most of the season.

Perhaps what’s most interesting about the Pro Bowl vote is the one notable Patriot who didn’t make it. Marcus Jones has established himself as one of the game’s premier returners, yet he lost the return specialist spot to Chimere Dike of the Tennessee Titans. While Dike has had a solid season, nobody should be surprised if Jones ends up earning First-Team All-Pro honors when that vote is released.

The Pro Bowl vote has been released, and two members of the New England Patriots made the original cut.
