Chambliss became a full-time starter for Ferris State in 2024, where he helped lead the team to a 14-1 record and won the Division II National Championship. He recorded 26 touchdown passes and was named a finalist for the Harlon Hill Trophy, given to the most valuable player in Division II. Chambliss transferred to Ole Miss in 2025, but began the season as the backup to Austin Simmons. After an injury to Simmons, Chambliss made his first start for Ole Miss against Arkansas and has been the starter for the Rebels every game since. Chambliss threw for over 3,000 yards in the regular season, helping lead Ole Miss to the College Football Playoff, and has a 10-1 record as the starter.

Strengths:

Dec 20, 2025; Oxford, MS, USA; Mississippi Rebels quarterback Trinidad Chambliss (6) celebrates the victory following a game against the Tulane Green Wave at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. He is an all-around terrific runner who has top-tier speed, power, elusiveness, and vision for a quarterback. He is tough to defend when scrambling out of the pocket and effective on designed quarterback runs. The arm talent is definitely there for Chambliss as well. He has great arm strength and can throw the ball well from multiple arm angles. He does a good job throwing the ball on the run and making plays out of structure. Chambliss throws a really good deep ball as well. He also rarely puts the ball in danger. Chambliss is a smart decision maker with only three interceptions in the regular season for Ole Miss and an overall 1.3% interception percentage for his entire college career.

Weaknesses:

Chambliss is an undersized quarterback at 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds. He tends to have more passes batted down at the line of scrimmage than most other quarterbacks as well. Chambliss is also not as strong under pressure. He is not as consistently accurate under pressure, and he tends to bail from the pocket too quickly. Chambliss also only has one season of experience at the FBS level.

NFL Projection:

Chambliss is a very undersized quarterback prospect, but he definitely has the arm talent and athletic ability to help potentially make up for being an undersized quarterback at the next level. Chambliss could have an opportunity to return to college football for another season, and it might be helpful to gain another year of experience at the FBS level before going to the NFL. However, he still has the talent to be an intriguing Day 3 developmental quarterback draft pick for a team in the 2026 NFL Draft. He is not someone who is likely to be a day one starter, but he has the upside needed to potentially develop into a quality starter in a few years in the NFL. Chambliss is currently projected to be a mid-to-late Day 3 pick if he declares for the 2026 NFL Draft.

Main Image: Petre Thomas – Imagn Images

Trinidad Chambliss scouting report.
