Those of us who need to win to make the playoffs will have to do so without some impactful young quarterbacks like Drake Maye and Jaxson Dart. We’ll also be missing Brock Purdy and Bryce Young in deeper, super-flex leagues. The situation is a bit of a minefield, as many of our standard top ten options face tough matchups in week 14. I expect Buffalo to have their way with Cincy this weekend, and Allen will score plenty of points in the first half before James Cook takes over and has his monster day. Well, I was half right. Stafford only managed 13.62 fantasy points in a game that the Rams actually lost. This week, they face a Cardinals defense that has only allowed one 300-yard passer this season. If I gave you ten guesses, would you have guessed that it was Bryce Young who threw for 300+ yards against them? The same concern I had for Stafford last week carries over to this game. The Cardinals usually fall behind early and have to play catch-up every week, so opposing quarterbacks haven’t been racking up the yards. When all things are equal in fantasy, we prefer to start a quarterback who will get us higher volume. That usually means it’s the QB for a losing team. Simply put, Jacoby Brissett is legit and deserves a spot in your fantasy lineup. This matchup isn’t perfect, but that hasn’t mattered much to Brissett, who has scored over 20 fantasy points in 5 of his 7 starts and scored 19.42 and 19.76 in the other two. Additionally, he’s coming off of back-to-back 20+ fantasy point games, and this week he faces a Colts team that will likely be without Sauce Gardner. The Colts secondary has been very vulnerable this year, and I expect the Colts to be able to score on the Jaguars enough to keep Lawrence throwing for most of the game. He has also added a new dimension to his game this year—his 5 rushing scores have already tied a career high.

10) Lamar Jackson vs Pittsburgh

The way he’s played, he really shouldn’t be on this list at all. Lamar owners are likely upset right now after he just gave them his third straight sub-10-point game last weekend. This is it; there’s nowhere left to backslide. He has to step up this week, or his fantasy season is likely over. There are no options out there that I prefer over Jackson against this struggling Pittsburgh secondary. The Ravens need this game, and the only way they’ll win is if Lamar can throw the ball effectively. I was thinking about Bo Nix or Caleb Williams for this spot, but both young quarterbacks face tougher matchups and have been inconsistent. Besides Lamar, the other options include Daniel Jones on a fractured fibula against the Jags, Baker Mayfield with a shoulder injury against a weak Saints team, or Justin Herbert possibly playing with a broken hand on Monday Night. If you can’t stomach playing Jackson, I don’t blame you, but none of the other options are particularly appealing either. I’d love to tell you to play Tyler Shough over Lamar Jackson, but I just can’t.

For more great fantasy football analysis, check out DrRoto.com!

We’ve finally reached the last week of bye weeks, which also marks the end of the regular season for many fantasy leagues.
